Qi Gen Xin Jian is a fantasy adventure drama directed by Cai Yuexun, starring Song Weilong and Liu Haocun.

The series is based on Wei Yu's novel "七根凶简/ Qi Gen Xiong Jian" Set in ancient times, the story revolves around seven mysterious creatures that were sealed inside "Qi Gen Xin Jian" by a great sage and his disciples. These creatures were named the "Seven Souls of the Heart," and were locked away using a special iron made from fallen meteors, sealed with a Phoenix-Luan buckle.

A hundred years ago, a dog accidentally unearthed one of these wooden tablets on Fengzi Ridge, and the "Xin Jian" were once again unleashed into the world. Over the next twenty years, a series of bizarre and tragic events occurred, with mysterious and dangerous crimes surfacing one after another. Five ordinary yet passionate young people—Mu Dai, Luo Ren, Yan Hongsha, Yi Wansan, and Cao Yanhua—form the "Phoenix Team" by chance. Together, they embark on a perilous adventure to capture and seal away these evil souls.

Synopsis

In ancient times, a meteorite carrying extraterrestrial creatures crashed into Fengzi Ridge, bringing with it seven strange and dangerous beings. These beings could possess human bodies, disturb their minds, and cause them to commit evil deeds.

To prevent this, the great sage and his disciples used divine wood to create seven wooden tablets to imprison the creatures, naming them the "Qi Gen Xin Jian." The tablets were then sealed with a special Phoenix-Luan buckle made from fallen meteors. Over generations, heroes passed down the methods for sealing the "Xin Jian", keeping them alive in folklore. A hundred years ago, one of these tablets was accidentally unearthed, and the souls returned to the world.

As strange deaths and incidents unfold, five unlikely heroes are drawn together to form the "Phoenix Team" and set out on a mission to capture the "Xin Jian" and prevent further chaos.
