Synopsis

In the city of Luo’an, a series of mysterious heart-extraction cases involving monsters sparks widespread fear. Ji Ling, a mage from the Shilin Sect, teams up with Wu Shiguang — a member of the demon race disguised as a mage — along with the nine-tailed fox Wu Wangyan, the enigmatic Lou Wuyi from the secret organization Wuxiangyue, and others to investigate the truth behind the crimes.

They soon uncover that the true culprit is the demon fox Xiao Wei, one of five great demons — alongside Taotie, Wuzhiqi, Bai Ze, and Hanba — who once served the Dragon God. Each of these ancient demons was granted a portion of the Dragon God's divine power. However, they betrayed the Dragon God, who once blessed all living beings, and began wreaking havoc across the human world.

To retrieve the scattered fragments of the Dragon God’s power, the group embarks on a perilous journey. Along the way, they not only discover the truths of their own origins, but also unveil the mastermind behind a century-old catastrophe — the monstrous Jiuying.

In order to protect the world’s peace, the once-opposing five unite, sacrificing their lives to vanquish Jiuying. Wu Shiguang continues forward alone, carrying the memories of his companions and his deep affection for the human world.
