Qin Fei felt that, even though Luo Xiaoxiao had secured a week of rest for her, she couldn’t just do nothing and planned to be discharged the next day. Xing Zhizhi informed her that she had lumbar spondylolisthesis and, if not properly healed, it could lead to serious consequences in the future. He advised her not to risk her health lightly.

Qin Fei insisted she knew her own body and was determined to leave the hospital, adding that they had no right to stop her. Xing Zhizhi asked Yu Zhecheng to have Ka Fei act as an “undercover,” reporting on Qin Fei’s actions to prevent her from sneaking out. Ka Fei, understanding that Xing Zhizhi was only concerned for Qin Fei’s well-being, reluctantly agreed.

After several attempts to sneak out were thwarted by Xing Zhizhi, Qin Fei tried to escape through a window in the supply room. Ka Fei, seeing this, quickly informed Xing Zhizhi, but Qin Fei caught on to her "betrayal" and took her phone. They then tried to leave by elevator but were once again discovered by Xing Zhizhi. He told Qin Fei he’d enlisted everyone he knew at the hospital to watch her and prevent her escape.

Qin Fei retorted that he couldn’t control her life. Xing Zhizhi didn’t understand why she was risking her health for a job, saying that if she couldn’t continue in this field, she could find another path. Qin Fei explained to Xing Zhizhi that, five years ago, after she had hurt her back, many people told her that although she might never dance again, life was full of other possibilities.

But when that path disappeared, she could still vividly remember the pain and sadness. She didn’t want a life where she was merely surviving without achieving anything. Now, having a sense of purpose and direction was crucial to her. She wanted to make a mark in this industry and didn’t need people intruding on her life or “caring” for her. Xing Zhizhi was heartbroken hearing this, realizing she was determined to leave the hospital.

Silently, he left the room, handled her discharge procedures, and arranged for her to leave. Ren Siqi, surprised and worried to see Qin Fei discharge herself and eager to get back to work, pleaded with her not to risk her health. Qin Fei suggested he could use her persistence to create a “resilient persona” for her image. Ren Siqi, however, refused to use her situation for publicity. Meanwhile, Xing Zhizhi and Liu Yanze, both dealing with disappointment, drank together.

Xing Zhizhi lamented that everything he’d done for Qin Fei was for her own good, yet she was still pushing him away. He finally declared he would no longer interfere in her life. The next day, however, Xing Zhizhi couldn’t stop worrying about Qin Fei working with her injury, so he joined the “Rescue Battle” crew as a resident doctor. Qin Fei was surprised to see him on set, immediately realizing he’d come for her.

Though she felt a warm sense of sweetness, she also felt a pang of jealousy when she saw him talking to other female crew members. Throughout the shoot, Xing Zhizhi was constantly attentive to Qin Fei, becoming tense at the slightest sign of trouble. During a break, he sent Ka Fei over with a pain-relief spray for her. Qin Fei was thrilled to receive it, but then she noticed Jin Weiwei pestering Xing Zhizhi and felt annoyed.

During a firefighting drill, there was an accident, causing Qin Fei to fall and be sprayed by water. Xing Zhizhi quickly shielded her, pulling her out of the chaotic scene. Qin Fei warned Xing Zhizhi not to waste his time on her. Xing Zhizhi replied that, as an adult, he could choose where to spend his time, and no one could stop him.

He added that he could tell she had feelings for him—otherwise, she wouldn’t be upset when he interacted with Jin Weiwei. Yet, she kept pushing those who cared about her away. He wondered if she was afraid and couldn’t understand why she wouldn’t face her feelings. Qin Fei refused to answer. Xing Zhizhi proposed that if she promised to spend the next day with him, he’d let her go. Reluctantly, Qin Fei agreed.
