Ren Siqi approached Xing Zhizhi, asking if Qin Fei’s decision not to renew her contract was influenced by him. Xing Zhizhi replied that he was unaware of her decision. Later, Xing Zhizhi told Qin Fei that when she called him, Ren Siqi was with him. Qin Fei asked how Ren Siqi was, and Xing Zhizhi mentioned that he didn’t look well.

Crying, Qin Fei shared with Xing Zhizhi that she had once argued with her mother and came alone to Huhai with her luggage. It was Director Wang who picked her up, telling her that Zhongkun Dance Troupe would be her new home. Though she couldn’t dance due to an accident, she had placed her dreams in that troupe, hoping the younger dancers could fulfill her aspirations.

Now, seeing the troupe disband hurt her even more than when she had to leave. Xing Zhizhi asked if she had thought about her future plans. Qin Fei admitted she didn’t know yet, but she knew what she didn’t want. She wanted to pursue her dreams, even if it meant having nothing left in the future. She asked for Xing Zhizhi's support, and he assured her he’d stand by her no matter what she chose.

Chen Shen wanted Luo Xiaoxiao to meet his parents, and she agreed. He was thrilled and repeatedly told her not to worry, as his parents didn’t interfere with his relationships. He also mentioned that they had even watched Luo Xiaoxiao's movies, so she didn’t need to be anxious. On the way, Luo Xiaoxiao saw news of an explosion at a chemical plant where some rescue team members had been severely injured. She grew concerned about Liu Yanze.

Chen Shen noticed her worry and took her to the rescue team’s base, where they saw Liu Yanze unharmed. Luo Xiaoxiao then hurried to meet Chen Shen’s parents, saying they were still waiting. Realizing she still couldn’t let go of Liu Yanze, Chen Shen changed his mind and decided not to take her to meet his parents. Qin Fei approached Chen Shen for information about Li Changjiang, as he was Ren Siqi’s main investor.

Ren Siqi had signed a three-year performance agreement with Li Changjiang. The first two years had been challenging to meet targets, and the third year was a struggle, which was why Ren wanted to transition into producing and cast Qin Fei as the lead to pool all resources into meeting the targets. If Qin Fei quit, the company would fail to meet the goal and face a penalty of fifty million yuan to Li Changjiang.

Ren Siqi told Qin Fei that she could quit acting if she wanted, but that would result in the loss of many jobs for people in the company. He reminded her that her mother’s clothing store sources and guarantor were thanks to him. If she stopped acting, her mother would lose those as well and urged her to reconsider. Chen Shen suggested Qin Fei should ask Luo Xiaoxiao who mattered more in her life.

If Qin Fei did this favor, he’d help her connect with Li Changjiang. Luo Xiaoxiao decided to follow Chen Shen’s advice, making him happy. He drove to meet her, and Luo Xiaoxiao admitted she had developed deep feelings for Liu Yanze, which had become an obsession. She felt it was unfair to continue seeing Chen Shen under these circumstances.

Chen Shen asked what it would take for her to move on, and she replied that perhaps, in time, she would grow past it. Chen Shen promised he’d wait until she did. He hugged her, and they officially ended their relationship, each becoming single again. Meanwhile, Liu Yanze saw them hugging, misunderstood the situation, and accepted the nurse’s friend request on WeChat. Xing Zhizhi reviewed Qin Fei’s previous contract and discovered numerous loopholes.

Qin Fei blamed these issues on Ren Siqi. Later, Ren Siqi visited Qin Fei’s mother, bearing gifts, and told her that Qin Fei was unwilling to renew her contract. He hoped Qin Fei’s mother could persuade her otherwise. Upon learning this, Qin Fei’s mother was furious and said she would talk to Qin Fei.

Ren Siqi also arranged for the company’s HR to meet with Ka Fei, offering her a promotion and raise if she could convince Qin Fei to renew her contract. If Qin Fei didn’t renew, it would be difficult to meet the targets, and Ka Fei’s own job could be at risk.
