Ka Fei informed Qin Fei that the company’s HR had approached her about a promotion and raise, but it required her to convince Qin Fei to renew her contract. Without hesitation, Ka Fei resigned. Qin Fei mentioned that she had already discussed a promotional position for Ka Fei with Ren Siqi, which touched Ka Fei deeply. Qin Fei's mother visited and found Xing Zhizhi at home.

Xing Zhizhi noticed her neck issues and offered to massage her while discussing cooking together. Qin Fei’s mother really liked Xing Zhizhi. However, when Qin Fei saw her mother enjoying Xing Zhizhi's company, she was surprised and directly told her mother that she was aware of her intentions and had already made up her mind. No one could change that. Upset, Qin Fei’s mother left.

Xing Zhizhi reassured Qin Fei that her mother, like her, was tough on the outside but caring on the inside. She genuinely cared for Qin Fei. Later, Qin Fei received a message from her mother stating that she had saved all the money Qin Fei had sent her over the years. She said that since Qin Fei had made her decision, she wouldn’t say more. The card was left on the coffee table at Qin Fei's home.

When Qin Fei saw the card, she was moved to tears. Qin Fei told Xing Zhizhi that she planned to talk to Li Changjiang about the performance agreement. However, Chen Shen warned her that the agreement was actually a trap set by Li Changjiang for Ren Siqi, who had his eye on the company’s land. If the agreement failed, he would be pleased, making Chen Shen doubt the effectiveness of Qin Fei approaching Li Changjiang.

When Qin Fei arrived at Li Changjiang’s company, she learned that he wasn’t there and had gone to the hospital because his wife needed surgery. The doctor Li Changjiang trusted was Xing Zhizhi. When Xing Zhizhi heard Qin Fei mention Li Changjiang, he recognized the name. At the hospital, he learned that Li Changjiang was the investor behind Qin Fei’s management company.

Ka Fei later told Qin Fei that she was now free because the performance agreement with Li Changjiang had been extended by three years. This gave Ren Siqi more time to nurture another talent like Qin Fei to fulfill the agreement, allowing Qin Fei to leave freely. Though surprised at how easily it was resolved, Qin Fei was pleased with the outcome and happily shared the news with Xing Zhizhi, who agreed to return to surgery. They planned to celebrate.

However, Xing Zhizhi felt pressured as he hadn’t performed surgery in a long time and practiced peeling eggshells at home each night. He developed a surgical plan because Li Changjiang wanted not just for his wife to survive but also to fully return to normal life after having a lung removed. This surgery was quite complex, so Xing Zhizhi recommended Yu Zhecheng as the lead surgeon, with himself as the assistant.

Li Changjiang only trusted Xing Zhizhi, and he agreed to the plan only after Xing Zhizhi assured him he would take full responsibility. When Qin Fei learned that the patient for the surgery was Li Changjiang’s wife, she confronted Ren Siqi, questioning whether he had coerced Xing Zhizhi into taking the surgery. She didn’t want Xing Zhizhi to make compromises because of her.

Ren Siqi explained that he was merely facilitating the connection, as Li Changjiang had specifically requested Xing Zhizhi. He also mentioned that the new performance agreement extended the time and offered Qin Fei a 3% stake, ensuring that even if she left the company, she would still receive compensation. Xing Zhiwu called Qin Fei to check on Xing Zhizhi’s situation after hearing he was returning to surgery.

Qin Fei apologized, feeling that Xing Zhizhi might be taking on the surgery because of her. Xing Zhiwu reassured her that Xing Zhizhi was meant for the operating room and that his primary concern was the patient. She advised Qin Fei not to blame herself, suggesting that sometimes all someone needs is a little push. As long as Qin Fei believed in and supported him, that was enough.
