Qin Fei noticed that Xing Zhizhi was diligently practicing and reviewing various surgical materials and videos every day. She asked him if he felt a lot of pressure since he was about to perform such a difficult surgery right after returning to the operating room. Xing Zhizhi downplayed it, saying he wasn’t feeling much pressure. Remembering that Xing Zhiwu had suggested she play dumb to encourage Xing Zhizhi, she chose not to push further.

Qin Fei called her mother to ask for the recipe for traditional egg cake, wanting to make it for Xing Zhizhi. Her mother, who really liked Xing Zhizhi, encouraged Qin Fei to treat him well. Qin Fei then brought the egg cake to Ren Siqi. She thanked him for supporting her during her low points and told him that she didn’t want to be a pawn that pressured Xing Zhizhi.

She made it clear that the performance agreement was one thing, while surgery was another. She refused to let her issues sacrifice Xing Zhizhi and intended to clarify things with Li Changjiang. Ren Siqi asked if she had fully considered the consequences of her actions, to which Qin Fei confidently replied that she had. Qin Fei approached Li Changjiang to express her stance.

She felt he shouldn’t use her to threaten Xing Zhizhi, emphasizing that Xing Zhizhi was not the kind of doctor who would ignore a patient in need. He had never revealed why he left the operating room for rehabilitation. Initially, she thought he had given up, but she learned that he had been studying surgical materials and videos for five years.

Xing Zhizhi actually wanted to return to the operating room the most, but his repeated refusals for this surgery were certainly out of consideration for the patient. Qin Fei hoped that any decision made by Xing Zhizhi would stem from his professionalism as a doctor, as that would also be responsible for the patient’s well-being. Xing Zhizhi realized Qin Fei had met with Li Changjiang and guessed she was informed.

Qin Fei told him that Xing Zhiwu mentioned that sometimes people need a push when they are down, or they may never recover. While she hoped to push Xing Zhizhi forward, she didn’t want to become a source of pressure. She wanted him to make decisions without feeling burdened by her. Xing Zhizhi said he wanted to give it a try, and Qin Fei promised to be by his side during the surgery.

During the surgery, Yu Zhecheng was the lead surgeon while Xing Zhizhi guided him from the side. However, there was significant blood loss during the procedure, forcing Xing Zhizhi to step in and manage the bleeding and stitching himself. He felt anxious throughout the surgery, especially when he unexpectedly saw Xiao Jia in the operating room. After he finished stitching, Yu Zhecheng completed the surgery, which was a success.

Once the surgery was over, Xing Zhizhi left the room and chatted with Xiao Jia, telling her she shouldn’t have come. Xiao Jia remarked that if her surgery could be that successful, it would be great. When Qin Fei learned that the surgery was a success, she sought out Xing Zhizhi, but Xiao Jia had vanished. Ren Siqi and Li Changjiang extended their performance agreement again, and Li Changjiang offered Qin Fei a 3% equity stake.

Qin Fei declined the money, feeling that the surgery's success was entirely Xing Zhizhi’s achievement and that she shouldn’t benefit from it. She suggested that Li Changjiang donate that amount in his wife’s name to charity. Li Changjiang expressed confidence in Qin Fei and said she could reach out to him for future collaborations. Though Qin Fei decided not to renew her contract, she chose to invest in the company as a partner.

While stepping away from being an artist, her biggest desire was to take the college entrance examination. She bought many study materials and gifted Xing Zhizhi a pen, hoping he could tutor her. Xing Zhizhi sought help from a psychologist, Ge Wu. It turned out that Xiao Jia was a figment of his imagination, appearing when he went back to his home country to deliver supplies to an orphanage. Xiao Jia's presence didn’t negatively affect him; they interacted as friends.

Whenever Xing Zhizhi felt down, Xiao Jia was there to comfort him. However, after her unexpected appearance in the operating room, Xing Zhizhi realized he no longer had control over her. He understood that Xiao Jia represented his underlying issues. Dr. Ge Wu advised that returning to the operating room might trigger his memories, and he did not recommend Xing Zhizhi continue working at the hospital at this stage.
