Qin Fei thought that Xing Zhizhi had liver cancer, so she planned to take good care of him. However, Xing Zhizhi found her attitude a bit strange and suspected that she might have misunderstood something. He called a friend of his parents to say that his sister had sent him the information.

He also researched some information on liver cancer, and when Qin Fei heard this, she realized that the information was actually for someone else and that Xing Zhizhi did not have liver cancer. Qin Fei then asked Xing Zhizhi what illness he did have. He struggled to speak about it, which made Qin Fei angry. She confronted him, saying that she could have chosen not to ask or listen and could have easily ended their relationship.

But because it was him, she found herself feeling scared. She questioned whether they were coming to an end. Luo Xiaoxiao arrived with her suitcase to find Qin Fei and Xing Zhizhi arguing, sensing the tension. She reminded Xing Zhizhi of the importance of communication, referencing the story of "The Gift of the Magi," where one partner tries to do something good for the other without considering their needs.

She emphasized that while hair can grow back, a wounded heart can leave scars. Xing Zhizhi sent a paper airplane to Qin Fei to apologize and urged her to give the little chubby guy some time, but Qin Fei refused. Meanwhile, Liu Yanze was out drinking with colleagues when he spotted Chen Shen walking closely with another girl. Enraged, Liu Yanze confronted Chen Shen, asking if he knew how this would hurt Luo Xiaoxiao.

Chen Shen, annoyed by Liu Yanze's questioning, ended up in a fight. Liu Yanze won and declared that Chen Shen's actions hurt Luo Xiaoxiao. Chen Shen shot back, saying that every time he saw Luo Xiaoxiao upset over Liu Yanze, he felt even worse. He urged Liu Yanze to stop hurting her if he couldn't move on, suggesting that he should win Luo Xiaoxiao back.

Worried when she noticed that Luo Xiaoxiao hadn’t returned from her walk, Qin Fei joined Xing Zhizhi, Xi Xi, and her aunt and uncle to search for her. Xi Xi wanted to help but was sternly stopped by her uncle. Heartbroken, Xi Xi stayed behind, and Lu Yicheng comforted her, suggesting that it was better for her to rest given her previous leg injury.

Xi Xi didn't want to be seen as someone who needed protection and encouraged Lu Yicheng to let go of his bias against Xing Zhizhi. She reminded him that Qin Fei still cared for him. Lu Yicheng, however, was convinced that Xing Zhizhi was hiding something from Qin Fei and considered him a bad man, determined to expose his true nature to protect his sister.

While walking, Luo Xiaoxiao accidentally twisted her ankle and started calling for help, but no one responded. In a panic, she recalled the method Liu Yanze had taught her: using a mirror to reflect sunlight to attract rescue. Liu Yanze, having heard about Luo Xiaoxiao's disappearance, arrived at Xi Xi's guesthouse in Linkang County. Upon finding the injured Luo Xiaoxiao, he picked her up, comforting her and promising he wouldn’t leave again.

Meanwhile, Xing Zhizhi asked Qin Fei to get some medicine from his room. While there, she stumbled upon the psychiatric medication he was taking. Xing Zhizhi tried to convince her it was just anti-inflammatory medicine. However, Qin Fei looked up the medication name and realized it was for mental health treatment. Ka Fei also messaged her, reminding her that Dr. Ge Wu had always said to take good care of Xing Zhizhi.

Lu Yicheng overheard Xing Zhizhi on a call with a girl, assuming he was two-timing. Seizing the opportunity while Xing Zhizhi wasn't paying attention, he stole his phone and copied the data onto his computer. Luo Xiaoxiao then pulled Lu Yicheng outside to take pictures of her, but after several unsatisfactory shots, he lost interest. Liu Yanze arrived with a camera, offering to take pictures of her instead.

He told Luo Xiaoxiao that her smile was the most beautiful, which made her curious about his intentions. Liu Yanze stated that he wanted to pursue her again. To help Xing Zhizhi and Qin Fei reconcile, the guesthouse planned to show a romantic movie. Lu Yicheng used the computer to mirror Xing Zhizhi’s phone screen, and everyone discovered that Xing Zhizhi had been in contact with Dr. Ge Wu and had visited a mental health clinic multiple times. Qin Fei realized that Lu Yicheng had sabotaged Xing Zhizhi's efforts to communicate.
