It turns out that Xing Zhizhi’s mother was the woman Qin Fei had encountered at the salon, both having been talked into purchasing a hair treatment package. Xing Zhizhi offered to dry her hair and even took her upstairs to look at photo albums, preparing fruit just for her.

His attentiveness left Qin Fei feeling a bit overwhelmed, as she had expected to make an impression on his parents, hoping to build a connection with them. Yu Zhecheng assumed she’d been hurt in a past relationship and was attending her ex’s wedding, but Ka Fei clarified it was her father’s fifth wedding.

His frequent marriages had instilled a deep fear of marriage in her. Yu Zhecheng encouraged her to skip the wedding and took her to his newly purchased home instead. He explained he didn’t just want to marry; he wanted to marry *her*. He understood that, in her mind, marriage was associated with instability and chaos, and reassured her he wouldn’t pressure her into marriage. Ka Fei, deeply touched, hugged him, asking how he would handle his parents’ expectations.

Yu Zhecheng said that their ultimate wish was for him to be happy, leaving her feeling reassured and comforted. Xing Zhizhi carefully researched engagement rings, finally choosing a design called "Eternal Love. " However, this ring was out of stock, requiring a transfer from another city. Liu Yanze reminded him that Qin Fei cared less about the ring and more about the person proposing.

But Xing Zhizhi, knowing how long they had waited for this day, wanted everything to be perfect. He meticulously planned the proposal, even editing a video for her.
