After Qin Fei woke up, Dr. Kevin informed her that Xing Zhizhi still hadn't been found, and that the police had already started an investigation. Dr. Kevin handed her the pair of rings that Xing Zhizhi had left behind in his dorm. Staring at the rings, Qin Fei couldn’t hold back her tears. Qin Fei then received a call from her brother’s school; he had caused trouble, and the principal asked her to return home.

When she spoke to her brother, she told him that true strength doesn’t need to be flashy—real heroes keep their talents hidden. Her brother then asked when Xing Zhizhi would be back, to which Qin Fei replied that he might return after some time. Her brother said that Xing Zhizhi hadn’t even been in contact and probably wasn’t planning to return.

Although these words made Qin Fei feel a bit sad, she still warned her brother to behave when Xing Zhizhi did come back. On her way to an awards ceremony, Qin Fei asked Liu Yanze if Luo Xiaoxiao’s prenatal anxiety had improved and whether he’d followed her advice. Liu Yanze replied that he had taken Xiaoxiao to visit several temples and bought many prayer beads, which finally seemed to help.

Xiaoxiao wanted Qin Fei to hurry back for her baby’s birth, and Qin Fei requested to be the child’s godmother along with Xing Zhizhi as godfather. While traveling, she overheard people gossiping about Luo Xiaoxiao, saying that her husband wasn’t home for the first five months of her pregnancy and that Xiaoxiao was foolish to have a child with someone so irresponsible.

Qin Fei stepped in, explaining that Xiaoxiao wasn’t foolishly in love; she was just an ordinary mother, and her husband wasn’t absent by choice—he was away on a rescue mission. At the awards ceremony, everyone was joyful. Qin Fei’s career transition was going well; her dance troupe had achieved success, and the drama she’d invested in had great ratings.

Ren Siqi even asked when Xing Zhizhi would come back, jokingly telling Qin Fei to keep talking about him until he returned. Ka Fei invited Qin Fei to go wedding dress shopping with her, and Qin Fei was surprised, asking why Ka Fei, who was so resistant to marriage before, had changed her mind. Ka Fei said it was because of Qin Fei; she’d thought things through, and Qin Fei agreed that her choice was the right one.

Ka Fei complained that she had to handle everything herself because Yu Zhecheng always claimed to be too busy to even help her pick out a dress. She encouraged Qin Fei to try on a wedding dress too, but Qin Fei declined, saying that she wanted Xing Zhizhi to be the first to see her in one. Qin Fei messaged Xing Zhizhi, telling him she was about to accept an award and asking if he could come.

After her acceptance speech, she thought she caught a glimpse of someone who looked like Xing Zhizhi. She ran out to follow him, only to realize she had mistaken someone else for him. Chen Shen approached and found her in tears, reading through the unanswered messages she had sent to Xing Zhizhi. He asked if she planned to keep waiting if Xing Zhizhi never returned.

Qin Fei replied that their bond was more than just love—they had always walked hand in hand, never truly separated. Qin Fei suffered from insomnia, but whenever she visited Dr. Ge Wu, she could sleep peacefully. Dr. Ge Wu advised her that sometimes, no matter how beautiful or precious something is, it may be necessary to let go. Life is short, and she hoped Qin Fei would cherish it.

Seeing Qin Fei struggling to move on made Xing Zhizhi’s older sister, Xing Zizu, sad. She also encouraged Qin Fei to let go and live her own life. She told Qin Fei that before Xing Zhizhi left for Suman, he had gifted her the house next to his hospital, as he had wanted his sister to help look after Qin Fei if anything happened. Hearing that Xing Zhizhi had thought of her even before leaving moved Qin Fei to tears.

Returning home, Qin Fei opened the journal that Dr. Kevin had found in Xing Zhizhi’s bag. It was filled with his daily reflections and his longing for her. She knew that everyone was advising her to let go, but she simply couldn’t. One night, after drinking too much, Qin Fei suddenly awoke to find Xing Zhizhi standing before her. They embraced beneath the same billboard of "The Hedgehog and the White Horse Prince" where they had once shared memories.
