Despite this, Yang Ying insisted on going back. Zheng Qingyun intentionally revealed his wounds to make Yang Ying feel sorry for him. Zheng Qingyun promised to treat Yang Ying well for the rest of his life. Taking advantage of Yang Ying's agreement to marry him, he attempted to violate her again. However, Yang Ying pushed him away, insisting on a proper marriage with the necessary arrangements.
Ignoring Yang Ying's wishes, Zheng Qingyun, driven by lust, was subdued by Yuanluo when he arrived. However, Zheng Qingyun wounded Yuanluo during the struggle and forcibly took Yang Ying away. Zheng Qingyun attempted to kill Yang Ying, but thankfully, Ning Yuanzhou arrived in time to rescue her.
Seeing that Zheng Qingyun wanted to escape, he was eventually subdued by Ning Yuanzhou and Ruyi. Ruyi tended to Yuanluo's wounds, confirming that he was not in mortal danger. Ning Yuanzhou wanted to interrogate Zheng Qingyun about the missing gold, but Yang Ying pleaded with him not to kill Zheng Qingyun. Ning Yuanzhou accused Yang Ying of kneeling for such a despicable person.
Ruyi informed Yang Ying that Zheng Qingyun had intended to kill her earlier. Under Ruyi's interrogation, it was revealed that bandits stole the gold, and Zheng Qingyun took the opportunity to take His Highness away. The two incidents were unrelated, but they were set to meet again in Tangjia Town in three days, orchestrated by Prince Danyang. To avoid any further complications in the negotiations, Ning Yuanzhou and others decided to quickly recover the gold. They analyzed the potential routes of Prince Danyang's men carrying the gold and split up to gather information. Eventually, they discovered that Prince Danyang had dispatched two teams to transport valuable items. Unable to discern which group had the gold, Yuanluo arrived and, based on his experience, determined that the route leading to the ferry was likely the one transporting the gold.
With the gold route identified, Ning Yuanzhou and his team successfully retrieved the gold downstream at the ferry. After interrogating the bandit leader, Ning Yuanzhou confirmed that Prince Danyang did not intend to harm Yang Ying but wanted to use her to organize the theft of the gold and bring her to Anguo. Ning Yuanzhou admitted that both Prince Danyang and Zhang Song understood how to govern the country better than Emperor An, but the unjustly killed brothers of Liu Dao Tang still needed Emperor An to clear their grievances. Therefore, they agreed to rescue Emperor An.
Ning Yuanzhou apologized to Ruyi for not having time to take her out to see flowers and plants just after they got together. He promised that after the delegation's matters were settled, they could go to a place just for the two of them, plant flowers and vegetables, and cook and fish together. Yu Shisan informed Ning Yuanzhou that the envoy sent by Emperor An and the deputy minister of the Anguo Ministry of Rites, Fan Dongming, had come to visit the sick Prince. They insisted on seeing the Prince with their own eyes, and Ning Yuanzhou, representing them, delayed their meeting.
