Yang Ying asked Yuanluo if there was someone he liked. Yuanluo honestly admitted having someone in his heart but decided never to let that person know. Yang Ying fantasized about who might like her in the future. Yuanluo believed that Yang Ying should choose someone who genuinely liked her. She could become a powerful imperial sister or take charge of Liu Dao Tang. Yuanluo was confident that in this vast world, there must be a suitable suitor for Yang Ying. Inspired by Yuanluo, Yang Ying envisioned her future life.

Ruyi infiltrated the residence of the Second Prince and witnessed him currying favor with the Empress Dowager for the throne. Disappointed by the Second Prince's actions, especially his refusal to pay respects to his biological mother due to Emperor An's fear of Empress Zhaojie, Ruyi decided to take matters into her own hands. She administered a hallucinogenic drug to the Second Prince, revealing the truth about the past. It unfolded that the Second Prince, in pursuit of the Crown Prince position, collaborated with Emperor An to conspire against outsiders. He even falsely accused Empress Zhaojie of madness and urged her to guard the ancestral temple. Despondent, Empress Zhaojie eventually chose self-immolation.

Upon learning the truth, Ruyi, filled with anger, left the Second Prince's residence. On her way out, she encountered a disguised figure, Li Tongguang, who was testing her. Recognizing Ruyi's martial arts style, Li Tongguang, in tears, pleaded for her acknowledgment as his master. Ruyi eventually admitted her identity and, accompanied by Li Tongguang, went to the Marquis of Changqing's residence to inquire about Empress Zhaojie's cause of death. Li Tongguang revealed that Emperor An and the Beipan people were involved in buying horses. Empress Zhaojie, unable to stop them, knelt at the ancestral temple. Fearing the consequences of her actions, Emperor An imprisoned her, and later, instigated by the Crown Prince, he attempted to kill Empress Zhaojie to silence her. Learning about the Second Prince and the Eastern Sand's agreement to depose the empress, Empress Zhaojie chose to end her life in despair.

Having learned all the truths from the past, Ruyi prepared to leave the Marquis of Changqing's residence. Unwilling to see his master go, Li Tongguang, in an attempt to make her stay, opened a secret chamber containing portraits of Ruyi. Ruyi, unmoved by Li Tongguang's pleas, coldly departed.

Ning Yuanzhou, bringing a late-night snack, came to see Ruyi, understanding her troubled emotions but refraining from probing into her investigations. The next day, Ning Yuanzhou took Ruyi to the secret archives of the Six Paths Hall in Andu. He had organized the confidential letters involving Empress Zhaojie from five years ago and handed them to Ruyi. Reading the letters, Ruyi discovered that Tao Wei accused Empress Zhaojie, and this person had close ties to the Crown Prince. Ruyi deduced that the Crown Prince was scheming for the throne, colluding with his father-in-law to manipulate Tao Wei into accusing Empress Zhaojie.

Emperor An and Empress Zhaojie, a deeply in love couple from their youth, owed Emperor An's designation as the Crown Prince to Empress Zhaojie's unwavering support. Ruyi realized why Empress Zhaojie chose not to escape—her husband ordered the action, and her biological son betrayed her. In despair, Empress Zhaojie chose to end her life. Despite being the Second Prince's only kin, Ruyi spared his life. However, she had no intentions of letting go of the Crown Prince and his father-in-law, Duke Wang. As for the mastermind Emperor An, Ruyi decided to carefully plan her revenge for Empress Zhaojie.

Yang Ying personally visited the influential ministers in the An Kingdom, hoping to persuade them to advise Emperor An to let the Emperor return to his country. On the other hand, Ning Yuanzhou and Yu Shisan investigated the surroundings of the Yong'an Tower, planning evacuation routes to ensure a foolproof strategy. Upon learning that Yang Ying and Ning Yuanzhou had separated from the group that day, Ruyi became concerned about Li Tongguang's potential harm to Yang Ying. Indeed, fueled by jealousy, Li Tongguang led an assassination attempt against Yang Ying. Unaware of Yang Ying's presence, Li Tongguang attacked the carriage, only to discover that the occupant was Yu Shisan. Li Tongguang, driven to the brink, targeted Yu Shisan, but in the nick of time, Ning Yuanzhou intervened, exposing Li Tongguang's true identity.

Li Tongguang revealed his intention to kidnap Yang Ying to force his master to come and find him. He desperately hoped his master wouldn't ignore him. Losing control, he attempted to kill Yu Shisan, disregarding whether the two nations of Anwu would face complications due to Yang Ying.
