Ji Tan Yin vaguely saw two scholars walking out but didn’t pay much attention. Since she wanted to eat goose but had trouble moving around, she went down the mountain and bought one. On her way back, she saw the same two scholars again and tried to greet them, but when she caught up, they had disappeared. When Zi Fei returned, Ji Tan Yin eagerly wanted to invite everyone to enjoy roast goose together.

However, Zi Fei had only bought a live goose and insisted on roasting it himself. Yet, after struggling for a long time, he still couldn’t catch it. Ji Tan Yin sat at the stone table in the courtyard, watching Zi Fei chase the goose. At that moment, Yuan Zhong and Mei Shan Jun arrived. Just as Ji Tan Yin was greeting Yuan Zhong, the large goose suddenly flew toward her. Startled, she quickly dodged behind Yuan Zhong.

Yuan Zhong immediately activated the power of his divine hand to subdue the goose and then realized that Ji Tan Yin’s legs were fully healed—she no longer needed crutches. They all sat down for a chat. Zi Fei mentioned an odd incident he encountered on the way back. Since Ji Tan Yin had also seen the same thing, she became even more convinced that what they witnessed were mere images.

She explained to the group that Whitehead Mountain had a strange phenomenon—its barrier recorded past images of people and would release them during thunderstorms. Since Whitehead Mountain was once a renowned academy where many came to study, the images of scholars often appeared. Yuan Zhong found Ji Tan Yin’s knowledge of Whitehead Mountain peculiar, especially when she mentioned that she had studied there. Mei Shan Jun was also surprised.

Once again, Yuan Zhong grew suspicious of Ji Tan Yin’s identity and quickly wrote a letter to Baili Xiang, asking him to investigate the academy on Whitehead Mountain. Meanwhile, Zhi Dai was riding ahead on horseback when Tang Hua caught up to return her sword. It seemed that Tang Hua had started to recall that they had known each other before. The two sat at a tea stall and talked.

Zhi Dai gave the sword back to Tang Hua and recounted their first meeting and past events, even revealing the sword’s origin. Upon learning about their shared history, Tang Hua felt a pang of guilt. After finishing her story, Zhi Dai gracefully turned to leave. That night, during another thunderstorm, Yuan Zhong and Ji Tan Yin both saw the images again and decided to follow them.

Ji Tan Yin discovered the formation core of Whitehead Mountain, and she and Yuan Zhong entered it together. To her surprise, the restrictions on Whitehead Mountain had been set by her teacher. The challenge leading to the next stage was actually one of the very exams she had studied during her time there. Suddenly, Yuan Zhong fell into an illusion, reliving the moment when his body merged with the Divine Left Hand.

It turned out that he had not wanted to merge with it at the time—he had been forced into it under Ding Xu’s pressure. After Ji Tan Yin completed the exam, she was about to proceed to the next stage when she noticed Yuan Zhong trapped deep in the illusion. At the critical moment, she rushed to save him, awakening him and helping him overcome his inner fears.

Just as they were about to move forward, they saw Mei Shan Jun and Zi Fei outside, engaged in a fight. They stepped out to investigate, only to find that their opponent was none other than Ji Tan Yin’s teacher, Xie You. Ji Tan Yin hadn’t seen her teacher in years, and the two spent the night catching up. Yuan Zhong, though outwardly indifferent, was secretly filled with jealousy.

Ji Tan Yin apologized to Xie You, explaining that when she ascended, it happened too quickly for her to inform him. Upon hearing her explanation, Xie You forgave her and also noticed that she had sworn an oath to the Heavenly Dao. Ji Tan Yin realized that Xie You had changed his cultivation path—he had abandoned craftsmanship and become a sword cultivator instead.

She found this regretful but, with just a few words, managed to coax Xie You into feeling delighted. The next morning, Ji Tan Yin prepared breakfast, and everyone gathered to eat. However, she specifically invited Xie You to sit beside her, leaving Yuan Zhong, who had originally intended to sit next to her, feeling awkward. Throughout the meal, Yuan Zhong spoke to Xie You in a sarcastic tone and deliberately found faults in everything he said.
