A Xue noticed Qian Lin’s hair was a bit messy and wanted to help him comb it. Qian Lin was reluctant at first, but A Xue pulled him over to the bronze mirror. While grooming him, A Xue asked if he liked Ji Tan Yin.

Qian Lin did not hide anything and directly revealed his identity as a War Demon. A Xue was indeed shocked at first, but after hearing Qian Lin speak of his tragic past, she felt some sympathy for him. After finishing her work, Ji Tan Yin was about to return to the inn when a child suddenly appeared and handed her a lantern, guiding her to follow it to meet someone.

Seeing Ji Tan Yin with Fu Jiuyun, Yuan Zhong grew angry and misunderstood their relationship, walking off in a fury. Ji Tan Yin, noticing Yuan Zhong’s anger, brought two bowls of noodles that night to try to calm him down. However, Yuan Zhong stayed in bed, ignoring her. Ji Tan Yin had to sit and eat alone, explaining how she ended up meeting Fu Jiuyun that day.

Because he could no longer draw blood from Yuan Zhong to forge Blood Condensates, Ding Xu's health was deteriorating. Fu Jiuyun appeared in the streets, surrounded by admirers. Worried, Ji Tan Yin returned to the Linglong House and asked Yuan Zhong what the ninth level of the dream really was. Seeing the eagerness in Ji Tan Yin’s eyes, Yuan Zhong didn’t answer and only said he would tell her in the future.

His continued concealment of the ninth level made Ji Tan Yin more certain that he had truly fallen into darkness, and she was deeply concerned. Because Yuan Zhong had fallen into demonic influence, Qian Lin grew worried for Ji Tan Yin’s safety and wanted to find her. Not knowing where she was, he asked A Xue. Since A Xue didn’t know either, Qian Lin suspected she was intentionally hiding it and kept following her.

A Xue thought that since Ji Tan Yin was with Yuan Zhong, there was no need to worry. But Qian Lin told her that whether one was divine or demonic was still uncertain. At that moment, Yuan Zhong was standing outside the door and overheard their conversation. Ji Tan Yin’s sudden obsession with knowing the ninth level of the dream made Yuan Zhong suspicious.

He followed the trail and found A Xue’s residence, finally learning why Ji Tan Yin was so determined to uncover the mystery of the ninth level. Tang Hua’s health gradually improved, and he was strolling in the courtyard when Zhi Qiu deliberately came to drive him away. Yuan Zhong and Ji Tan Yin went together to attend the Lantern Festival. Yuan Zhong gave Ji Tan Yin a lantern. Upon seeing it, Ji Tan Yin smiled happily—a stark contrast to her previous gloomy expression, and Yuan Zhong was completely captivated. Yuan Zhong asked Ji Tan Yin, back when she played the mute girl from Mount Wu, what she would do if she saw an evildoer.
