Synopsis
In the early years of the Republic of China after the victory of the Xinhai Revolution, Shen Biyun, a talented girl from Jiangnan, marries into the Xuan family, the owner of the library, in order to realize her dream of entering the largest private library in China to read books and fight for the right to study for all students, as well as to find out who killed her father.
However, she is caught in the internal struggle for power and profit within the Xuan family, encountering many crises, and suffering several dangers.
The Xuan family also goes through a series of catastrophes, until the family is destroyed.
With the help of Xuan Xiaoji, the fourth young master of the Xuan family, and Wu Shi, a progressive young man, she saves the Xuan family with her strong faith and superior wisdom, and becomes the new head of the Xuan family, and finds out the real culprit and avenges her father's death.
Eventually, Shen Biyun breaks through the feudal system and opens the library, so that students, including Biyun, can read in the building.
