Always Home Episode 26 Recap
> Always Home Recap
Chen Huan'er and Jing Qichi were reluctant to part as they hugged downstairs before going home. Neither wanted to let go. But when Chen Huan'er saw Lin Yifan approaching, she quickly pulled away from Jing Qichi’s embrace, awkwardly said goodbye, and hurried upstairs. Unexpectedly, Lin Yifan had already seen them hugging. In fact, she had long noticed—back in high school, Jing Qichi was always revolving around Chen Huan'er.
She told Jing Qichi that now that they were together, he needed to take responsibility like a real man. Qi Qi woke up in the hotel, recalling what Song Cong had told her. She immediately called her mother to say she had decided to study abroad. Then, she sent a message to Song Cong, asking to talk after his exams were over. Meanwhile, Chen Huan'er went to Jing Qichi’s house to find him.
Although they had both returned home for the holidays to see their parents, Lin Yifan was out, and Chen Lei and Qian Lina had also gone out, leaving the two of them free to go on a date. Chen Huan'er sat on Jing Qichi’s lap, enjoying the intimate atmosphere. Just as they were about to kiss, Chen Lei suddenly returned to close the windows—only to witness the scene with his own eyes.
His loud shout startled them so much that they nearly jumped out of their skins. Chen Huan'er and Jing Qichi were subjected to an interrogation by Chen Lei and Qian Lina. Chen Lei was particularly emotional, angry that Jing Qichi hadn't told him in person before. Chen Huan'er quickly pushed him to go home, while Qian Lina also felt that Chen Lei was overreacting—after all, Jing Qichi was a good kid.
Chen Huan'er was upset by Chen Lei’s attitude and stormed off to her room in frustration. Qian Lina, feeling sorry for Chen Huan'er, also retreated to her room. Left alone, Chen Lei sat on the sofa all night. The next morning, when Chen Huan'er woke up and didn’t see him, she was startled. As expected, Chen Lei had gone to Jing Qichi’s house, saying he needed to talk to him.
Chen Lei apologized to Jing Qichi for his reaction the previous night. To him, Chen Huan'er and Qian Lina were the two most important people in his life, and now Jing Qichi was "taking" one away—his difficulty in accepting it was understandable. Today, Chen Lei had come to make a few things clear: First, Jing Qichi must treat Chen Huan'er well.
Second, even if they were to break up one day, they should do so amicably—after all, they had been friends for so many years. Standing outside the door, Chen Huan'er overheard the conversation. Tears streamed down her face. Qi Qi asked Song Cong if he would support her if she went abroad and whether he would consider studying abroad himself in the future. But Song Cong had eight years of study ahead of him and had never considered this possibility.
He supported Qi Qi’s decision to go abroad and wouldn't try to stop her. Qi Qi, however, was disappointed. Deep down, she had hoped that Song Cong would try to persuade her to stay—it would have shown that he wanted to be part of her life. She decided to break up with him. In truth, she had always known they came from different worlds.
To be together, they had both changed a lot, but in their hearts, they were both people who valued freedom. In the end, Qi Qi hugged Song Cong the way she used to and bid farewell to the long-held feelings she had for him. In the blink of an eye, they were already in their third year of university. Chen Huan'er decided to pursue a master's degree, while Jing Qichi was negotiating a collaboration with a tech company.
But right now, it was just him and Zhou Ye working on the project, and he worried that he wouldn’t have enough time to be with Chen Huan'er. When Chen Huan'er got her period, Jing Qichi made sure Zhou Ye bought her some brown sugar ginger tea—after all, Qian Lina had repeatedly reminded him that she must not drink anything cold during this time.
Meanwhile, this month, Hao Mei transferred extra living expenses to Song Cong, telling him to take Qi Qi out more often. But Song Cong declined—he and Qi Qi had already broken up for some time. Jing Qichi and Zhou Ye went to the tech company to meet with General Manager Jiang. There, they ran into Fu Ying, who worked at the company.
To thank her for the introduction, Jing Qichi invited her to dinner that evening and also called Chen Huan'er along. Zhou Ye scolded him for being thoughtless—how could he bring both his rumored girlfriend and his actual girlfriend to the same dinner? That night, Chen Huan'er and Fu Ying added each other on WeChat and ended up chatting happily. Jing Qichi was puzzled—this wasn't how Zhou Ye had described it at all!
In reality, Chen Huan'er didn't mind Jing Qichi working with Fu Ying, but that didn’t mean she had to sit through dinner with a sour expression the whole time. Meanwhile, Song Cong asked his roommate for the contact of the admin of a part-time job group. Unexpectedly, it turned out to be Du Man. After being scammed in a part-time job before, Du Man had created the group out of frustration.
This time, she was able to help Song Cong a lot. Chen Huan'er went to deliver some documents to her professor and unexpectedly ran into Tian Chi. He had just been accepted into Professor Qiu’s graduate program. The two exchanged an awkward greeting. Jing Qichi rented an apartment outside, and Chen Huan'er came over to help him clean up. Before they knew it, it was already 11 p. m. Jing Qichi hesitated before awkwardly suggesting that she sleep in the bed while he stayed up late coding.
