Back for You Episode 6 Recap
> Back for You Recap
A Lai had now become the rising star of the police department. Everyone called him the "One-Step Detective," meaning he always managed to get ahead of criminals. As a result, many officers hoped he would teach them his techniques. However, A Lai felt guilty, knowing that his abilities were not truly his own and that he had nothing special to pass on. Meanwhile, A Jia began to suspect something was off about A Lai.
He even went to the chief inspector to report his concerns, but instead of supporting him, the chief inspector reprimanded A Jia, telling him to trust others. A Lai visited Lu Na at the hospital and noticed that the open notebook contained a new story. This time, the protagonist was a man named A Feng, an incredibly unlucky person. While playing a game with his classmates, he accidentally hit the principal on the head.
His design drafts, which he had stayed up all night working on, were ruined by water. When he proposed to his girlfriend, he was stabbed multiple times by a thug. As A Feng lay on the ground, the bar owner asked him, "If you could do it all over again, would you make different choices? " With that question, A Feng found himself back in the year he was 17, preparing for his college entrance exams.
He still retained all of his current memories and knew that he had been late for his art exam back then. This time, no matter what, he was determined to arrive on time. However, history repeated itself—he saw a puppy run over by a car. He hesitated but ultimately made the same choice: he saved the puppy. The moment he picked up the puppy, he was transported back to reality. He was alive.
A Feng shared his experience with the bar owner, who told him that every choice he made determined his future. If he hadn't saved the puppy, the fight that led to his stabbing wouldn’t have happened, and he wouldn’t have ended up marrying his girlfriend, Xiao Qiao. Determined to change his fate, A Feng took another drink and traveled back in time again—this time bringing the bar owner into his dream. A Feng returned to the moment he had just graduated.
His best friend, A Jie, was devastated after a breakup. Originally, A Feng had planned to move to a new city with Xiao Qiao, but he chose to stay behind to take care of A Jie. Because of this, he never made it to the train station and never had a proper farewell with Xiao Qiao. For the sake of brotherhood, he missed the chance to spend the rest of his life with the woman he loved.
A Feng tried to alter the past. He went back to the night he was working overtime on his design draft. At the time, he had a pregnant colleague who was also his competitor. She intentionally asked him to help revise her design, delaying his progress. When she left, she deliberately cut the power and destroyed his draft. The bar owner told A Feng that from the beginning, he should never have helped that colleague.
He then showed A Feng what would have happened if he had chosen differently—A Feng would have been promoted, while the pregnant colleague would have been bullied in the workplace. But A Feng was a kind-hearted person. He couldn’t accept that outcome. Later, A Feng returned to the day he proposed to Xiao Qiao. The events played out the same way—a drunken man grabbed Xiao Qiao, insisting she drink with him.
A Feng intervened and managed to get hold of a knife, but he didn’t have the courage to use it. The drunken man then snatched the knife and, in a shocking twist, stabbed himself. As a result, A Feng was convicted and sent to prison. He became so hopeless that he wanted to end his own life. Fortunately, A Lai arrived just in time to save him.
A Lai comforted A Feng, promising that he would uncover the truth and clear his name. In court, A Lai reenacted the events of that night. In the end, the court declared A Feng not guilty and released him on the spot.
