> Back for You Recap
A Lai arrived at the hospital, and as usual, he opened the book and began reading to Lu Na. This time, the story’s protagonists were Li Li and Bai Lang. Li Li loved eating Bai Lang cakes, and Bai Lang was her idol. She even enrolled in a pastry class to learn how to bake, but she had no talent for it. Her teacher was so frustrated that he told her to give up and stop wasting her time.
Li Li was furious. It was her birthday today. Even though she had failed to make a successful cake, she still wanted to celebrate with it. Just as she was about to open the cake, she received a phone call in a roadside telephone booth. The caller instructed her to go to a law firm to sign a house transfer agreement. When she arrived, Li Li was shocked to learn that Bai Lang had left her a house.
She found it strange but still took the cake and went inside. The place had been abandoned for a long time. She opened the cake, ready to celebrate her birthday, but to her surprise, the cake inside was the once-famous cream strawberry molten cake. After taking a few bites, she fell unconscious. When she woke up, she found herself in bed with a strange man. The man explained that this was his home and dragged her to the door.
To her astonishment, she was standing in front of "Xiao Bai Pastry Shop. " The man in front of her was Bai Lang. Li Li had never met Bai Lang in person, but she had seen photos of him. The man indeed looked exactly like Bai Lang. Suddenly, Bai Lang was chased by a gang of thugs. He grabbed Li Li, and they ran. Along the way, they accidentally bumped into a newspaper boy.
Li Li glanced at the newspaper and saw the date—she had traveled back in time. At this point, Bai Lang’s pastry shop had a terrible reputation. His cakes were notoriously bad. Li Li was surprised, so she decided to help him improve his recipes. Together, they worked hard and developed a new product—the cream strawberry molten cake. After tasting it, they confirmed it was perfect, but selling it was difficult. No one was willing to try Bai Lang’s cakes.
Then, Li Li had an idea—she would use publicity to promote the cake. She decided to seek out a well-known food critic. She brought Mr. Li to the pastry shop, but he had already visited when the shop first opened and had written a harsh review criticizing it. Li Li pleaded with him to give them another chance. However, during their struggle, she accidentally smashed the cake onto his face. Mr.
Li was furious, but when he licked a bit of the cream, he was instantly captivated by the taste. The cake was delicious. Soon, Bai Lang’s cream strawberry molten cake became a sensation throughout the city. Customers had to wait in long lines just to buy one. However, the success was short-lived. Bai Lang suddenly developed a problem with his sense of taste. While making cakes, he mistakenly used salt instead of sugar.
Customers returned their cakes, and that was when Li Li realized something was wrong. She initially thought Bai Lang was simply overworked. After that, Bai Lang lost motivation and stopped focusing on baking. He was constantly out on errands. Sensing that something was off, Li Li secretly followed him and discovered that Bai Lang had another girlfriend. He had only been with Li Li to gain inspiration for his cakes. Heartbroken, Li Li decided to leave.
As she ran away, she was hit by a car. When she woke up, she had returned to the present. She was devastated, realizing that Bai Lang had betrayed her. While packing her things, Li Li accidentally uncovered some hidden writing on the wall—it was left by Bai Lang. Bai Lang had never betrayed her. In reality, he had been diagnosed with a terminal illness. To make Li Li leave, he had staged a fake act with his doctor.
But after she left, he missed her terribly and constantly reminisced about their time together. Lu Na knew this story because the elderly Li Li had told it to her. It was A Lai who had investigated the case and cleared Li Li’s name. Since Bai Lang had taken his own life, Li Li had been a suspect. If not for A Lai, she might never have been able to prove her innocence.
Tragically, shortly after Bai Lang’s death, a special medication for his illness became available. Unfortunately, he never got the chance to receive it.
