Back From the Brink Episode 12 Recap
> Back From the Brink Recap
Bai Xiaosheng had been searching for a mysterious demon lover for decades, and he finally found Yan Hui and Tian Yao who met the criteria. As a result, he was in a particularly good mood and decided to stick with them without changing anymore. Yan Hui ran up the hill in a seemingly crazy manner, with Tian Yao chasing after her. The sight of the two of them pulling and tugging at each other made Bai Xiaosheng mistakenly think that they were flirting with each other. Excitedly, he approached them, but to his surprise, he was fiercely attacked by Yan Hui. It was then that he realized Yan Hui was truly in a frenzied state. Tian Yao was worried that Yan Hui might hurt herself and offered his hand for her to bite. Yan Hui didn't hesitate and bit down on his hand. Bai Xiaosheng couldn't allow their relationship to be strained, so he stepped in to mediate. However, Yan Hui redirected her anger towards Bai Xiaosheng, refusing to let go of his hand. Bai Xiaosheng was in so much pain that his face distorted, but in the end, it was Tian Yao who covered Yan Hui's eyes and calmed her down. Aware that something was off with her state, Yan Hui voluntarily asked to be tied up by someone.
Even after being tied up, Yan Hui couldn't stay still. She looked at Tian Yao on her right and then at Bai Xiaosheng on her left. She wished she could throw away the cloth in her mouth and bite them both. Upon learning that Yan Hui's sea of consciousness was in turmoil and inaccessible, both Tian Yao and Bai Xiaosheng felt it was their fault and grew somewhat anxious. Yan Hui tried various methods and poses to calm herself and enter her sea of consciousness, but none of them worked. Xian Ge suggested that Yan Hui should talk about her desires, believing that if things went her way, she would find peace. Yan Hui's biggest desire was to live a life of luxury and extravagance. However, as soon as Feng Qianshuo heard this, he quickly revealed that he was bankrupt. The Feng family's properties were destroyed in the previous battles, and his Seven Absolute Hall had closed down. He had no money at all, but everyone believed that he was like a thin camel that was still larger than a horse. Helpless, Feng Qianshuo led everyone to the silver building, but to their disappointment, there was nothing inside except dirt.
Unable to fulfill her desires, Yan Hui could only vent her inner restlessness by chopping firewood at night. Tian Yao was by her side, sharpening the knife for her. They stayed like that for most of the night. Unexpectedly, a falling leaf triggered Yan Hui's sadness, and her agitation turned into depression. While burying the fallen leaves, memories of a heavy snowfall from her childhood resurfaced. Yan Hui rambled on about her childhood, reminiscing about the past. As a child, Yan Hui wandered the streets, watching other children being loved and cared for by their parents while she was hungry and freezing. She could only pick up discarded steamed buns from the ground, considering them the most delicious food. She couldn't help but ask herself why she didn't eat much and why she had such strength without the love of parents. Yan Hui seemed to be transported back to that snowy day, feeling cold and afraid, tears streaming down her face. Tian Yao used the warmth of his palms to comfort and soothe Yan Hui, helping her calm down.
Xian Ge's Forgetfulness Tower has been destroyed, and now that she has no more tasks in Xuanmen, she plans to return to Qingqiu. Feng Qianshuo and Xian Ge express their feelings for each other and decide to go to Qingqiu together. Yan Hui is especially reluctant to part with Xian Ge, and on the day of their separation, she is reluctant to let go. When she sees Xian Ge leave, her emotions once again spiral out of control, and she becomes agitated. Tian Yao once again ignites the fire in his palm to temporarily calm Yan Hui down.
Bai Xiaosheng noticed that Yan Hui liked fire, so he placed many braziers in her room. Tian Yao nearly got roasted by the fire, and Yan Hui was sweating profusely, but none of the fires could calm her down. Tian Yao also grew weak from continuously generating palm fire. He thought about entering Yan Hui's sea of consciousness to take a look, but she drove him out of the room.
Tian Yao recalled the incident with the Dragon Horn in Bai Xiaosheng's hands and wanted to investigate the cause. Bai Xiaosheng, fearing that Tian Yao would discover the truth by entering Yan Hui's sea of consciousness, tried to stop him. Unexpectedly, Bai Xiaosheng's identity as a demonic cultivator was exposed, and Yan Hui openly admitted to using her spiritual energy to break the Dragon Horn formation. Initially, Tian Yao felt a bit angry at Yan Hui for deceiving him, but upon reflection, he realized that she did everything for his sake, and his anger subsided. Instead, he felt guilty and apologized to Yan Hui, who had been doubting herself. They reconciled and restored their relationship.
Upon entering Yan Hui's sea of consciousness, Tian Yao discovered that her condition had worsened. The presence of dark energy in her sea of consciousness gave Tian Yao a sense of familiarity. He quickly remembered encountering a similar dark energy during his time in Long Valley, which he was able to dispel with his own weapon. This sparked the idea of retrieving his weapon from Long Valley. Yan Hui initially wanted to accompany him, but Long Valley was the place where Tian Yao and Su Ying had their decisive battle, and the remnants of Su Ying's formation still lingered, making it impossible for ordinary people to withstand. Therefore, Tian Yao left a mark on Yan Hui, allowing them to communicate, and set off alone for Long Valley.
Senior Brother found Yan Hui and, after a lengthy discourse, wanted to take her back to Chenxing Mountain. However, Bai Xiaosheng would never agree to that. He struck Senior Brother with a stick, rendering him unconscious. Tian Yao also communicated with Yan Hui, telling her not to leave and to wait for his return.
