Back From the Brink Episode 16 Recap
> Back From the Brink Recap
Yan Hui felt heartbroken for Tian Yao's self-tormented life over the years. She repeatedly reminded Tian Yao that he was not at fault, but Tian Yao insisted that he had brought the disaster upon himself, leading to the tragic death of the Dragon Valley elf, and he refused to forgive himself no matter what. Yan Hui bravely told Tian Yao that she was deeply saddened by his behavior and confessed her feelings to him. Tian Yao wanted to respond to Yan Hui but lacked the courage. He reluctantly lowered his hand that he had just raised and cruelly rejected Yan Hui. However, Yan Hui was not discouraged. Learning that Tian Yao had no heart, she made a heart shape with her hands and sent it to Tian Yao, promising to bring him a real heart in the future. Tian Yao still refused to accept Yan Hui's gesture and turned away, leaving.
Yan Hui, after being rejected in her confession, was deeply hurt. She decided to drown her sorrows alone by drinking. The night grew late, and she advised herself to go to sleep. So she lay down on the floor to rest. Tian Yao had been paying close attention to Yan Hui's every move. When he saw that she had fallen asleep, he approached her with a smile on his face. He concentrated his star energy in his spiritual sea and sent it into Yan Hui's body, wishing her a carefree life. Chi Yan Long Ya sensed the change in Tian Yao's state of mind and flew back to him voluntarily. This made Tian Yao realize that he had developed a protective feeling towards Yan Hui, which aligned with the spirit of Chi Yan Long Ya. That's why Chi Yan Long Ya returned on its own. Tian Yao resolved to let go of his past hatred and eliminate all the feelings before that.
When Yan Hui woke up, she felt frustrated that she had confessed her feelings before even starting a relationship. Bai Xiaosheng suggested that she try with someone else, which mistakenly made Yan Hui think that she was not worthy of Tian Yao. This almost caused her to lose control, but Bai Xiaosheng explained that it was Tian Yao who was not worthy of Yan Hui. Tian Yao came down, holding Chi Yan Long Ya and giving a warning look, causing Bai Xiaosheng to stop talking. Huan Xiaoyan had been worried about the Illusion King trapped in the ring by dark energy. When she saw Tian Yao with Chi Yan Long Ya in his hand, she was overjoyed. Tian Yao rescued the Illusion King and learned from him that the creator of the dark energy was someone from the Qingqiu Clan with exceptional eye techniques and terrifying eyes. Although the Illusion King assured them that Bai Xiaosheng was not that person, Tian Yao remained wary of Bai Xiaosheng. Only the Illusion King and Huan Xiaoyan were left from the Illusion Demon Clan. The rest of the clan had been wiped out by the master of the dark energy, who had created a powerful illusion formation to guard the entrance. The Illusion King's destiny was nearing its end, and he was about to disappear. Before his disappearance, he entrusted the Illusion Clan ring to Huan Xiaoyan, hoping that she would carry on the legacy of the Illusion Clan.
Huan Xiaoyan had deep feelings for the Illusion King and didn't want to be the only member of the Illusion Clan left in the world. However, destiny could not be changed, and the Illusion King eventually left. Huan Xiaoyan took on the responsibility of avenging the Illusion Clan and asked Tian Yao to accompany her to Qingqiu to find the master of the dark energy. But Tian Yao's body was not fully recovered, and his power was limited. He also had a grudge against the Dragon Valley that he wanted to settle, so he put aside Huan Xiaoyan's request for now, but he would keep it in mind. Bai Xiaosheng really wanted Tian Yao and Yan Hui to go to Qingqiu with him to obtain the secret treasure, but Tian Yao refused. Yan Hui, determined to help Tian Yao regain his body, insisted on following him. Bai Xiaosheng had no choice but to leave alone. Before leaving, he couldn't help but taunt Tian Yao, saying that he was just using Yan Hui.
In Guanghan Palace, Su Ying exerted a tremendous amount of power to save Lu Musheng. As soon as he regained consciousness, she looked at him with eyes full of resentment. Su Ying forcefully made Lu Musheng consume the pill refined from Yun Xi's life essence, hoping to make him remember their mutual affection. Lu Musheng recalled the past but couldn't forget about Yun Xi. Instead of admitting that he remembered, he drew his sword, intending to take his own life. However, Su Ying was determined to prevent his death. Neither Lu Musheng nor destiny had the authority to decide his fate. In order to ensure Lu Musheng's immortality, Su Ying left to find the Heart-Protecting Scale once again. To prevent Lu Musheng from self-harm, she bound him with her spiritual power before departing.
Su Ying wanted to find the Heart-Protecting Scale, but her subordinates had no trace of Tian Yao. However, Su Ying had already placed a tracking spell on the Dragon Horn, and with a simple calculation, she knew that Tian Yao was in the Dragon Valley of Luochuan. Immediately, she rushed to the Dragon Valley and killed a small elf in front of Tian Yao, then captured the other small elves, demanding that Tian Yao hand over the Heart-Protecting Scale. Otherwise, she would kill one person every hour.
Bai Xiaosheng, along with Huan Xiaoyan, drugged Yan Hui, intending to take her to Qingqiu and lure Tian Yao there. Unexpectedly, Su Ying suddenly arrived and injured Tian Yao. Sensing Tian Yao's danger through the Heart-Protecting Scale, Yan Hui immediately rushed back to the Dragon Valley. Tian Yao inserted the Chi Yan Long Ya into Yan Hui's heart, hoping to retrieve the Heart-Protecting Scale and save the elves. He could only endure the pain in his heart as he did so. Yan Hui lost the Heart-Protecting Scale and fell to the ground like a fallen leaf, tears streaming from her eyes.
Ling Xiao finally stabilized the seal that allowed him to unlock the stars. Sensing that the seal on the Heart-Protecting Scale had been broken, he knew that Yan Hui was in trouble and immediately rushed over.
