Yan Hui lost a considerable amount of money to Bai Xiaosheng in the gambling house last time, so she wrote an IOU to promise to repay the debt. Bai Xiaosheng initially didn't want to accept it, but seeing Yan Hui's insistence, he took the IOU. Although Yan Hui didn't develop any romantic feelings for Bai Xiaosheng, they had some understanding between them. She suggested trying their luck again, and Bai Xiaosheng happily agreed. So they held hands and set off together.

Zhu Li has been trying to decipher the usage of the compass. Suddenly, the compass showed some activity and flew straight to the closed-off area of the Qingqiu kingdom. Zhu Li and Huan Xiaoyan chased after it. When they saw the compass fly into the closed-off area, they wanted to enter and investigate, but they were stopped by the guards at the entrance. Despite being the crown prince, Zhu Li couldn't pass the guards. Huan Xiaoyan stepped forward and explained that the Grand Lord of the Qingqiu Kingdom was Zhu Li's father, and they hadn't seen each other in over a decade, so it would be appropriate for Zhu Li to go in and meet him. The guards were somewhat hesitant, but they remembered Zhao Gong's instructions and didn't have the courage to let them through. This made Zhu Li suspect that they no longer respected the Grand Lord and considered Zhao Gong as the ruler of Qingqiu. It scared them, and they quickly knelt down. In the midst of the standoff, Zhao Gong appeared beneath the compass and took it. Naturally, Zhu Li refused to let it go and tried to snatch it, but he ended up breaking the compass in two. Zhao Gong was pleased with himself, while Zhu Li was heartbroken because it was a memento from Xue Lin. However, he couldn't do anything to Zhao Gong and could only find a place to cry in secret. Huan Xiaoyan was disgusted by his weakness and couldn't help but wonder if Qingqiu was fortunate or unfortunate to have a crown prince like him. Upon careful consideration, Zhu Li realized that he shouldn't be so weak and vowed to repay Zhao Gong for today's humiliation once he became the Grand Lord. Huan Xiaoyan analyzed that the Eye Technique Master was involved with Zhao Gong, which made Zhu Li worry about the situation in Qingqiu.

Bai Xiaosheng and Yan Hui had just entered the secret cave when they noticed that the screen's spiritual power was unstable. Before they could figure out the reason, Tian Yao appeared and voluntarily proposed to accompany them into the screen to obtain the Ghostly Assignment. He promised not to appear again as long as Yan Hui stayed alive. Although Yan Hui was afraid of seeing Tian Yao, she knew his words were not empty, so Bai Xiaosheng, Yan Hui, and Tian Yao entered the screen together. The old man responsible for guarding the Ghostly Assignment asked them a question: "If two of the three of you become a couple, what would you do?" Only Tian Yao wished them happiness, and although his answer was correct, Bai Xiaosheng and Yan Hui answered incorrectly. They couldn't pass this challenge. Surprisingly, Tian Yao took out the Chi Yan Long Ya and forcefully passed the first challenge, leaving Bai Xiaosheng astonished. The three of them successfully entered the next challenge, with the condition being to pass through the path ahead. The spiritual power in the screen became even more unstable. Yan Hui had many questions for Xue Lin and asked several of them, but Xue Lin didn't answer any. Losing patience, Yan Hui continued walking straight ahead. Unexpectedly, she quickly exited the passage and arrived at the location of the first challenge. Bai Xiaosheng also encountered Xue Lin, who tried to persuade him to turn back. The heart demon given to him by his birth mother made it impossible for him to trust others. After hearing that Yan Hui and Tian Yao had returned, he felt inclined to give up, withdrew from the screen, and was ridiculed by the old man in charge of the first challenge, who laughed at him for not being a person in love but a redundant third party. Tian Yao also encountered Xue Lin, but he didn't believe that Yan Hui would retreat. He knew her well and understood her relentless nature in pursuing her goals. Especially when the Ghostly Assignment concerned Yan Hui's life, she would never retreat. So Tian Yao continued forward and successfully completed the challenge.

Shortly after Tian Yao met Yan Hui, he noticed her body starting to disappear, and soon he disappeared as well. Yan Hui found herself in front of the Chenxing Mountain gate, where the eldest senior brother warmly greeted her. However, Tian Yao was controlled by dark energy and massacred the disciples of the Chenxing Mountain gate. Ling Xiao presented the Ghostly Assignment to Yan Hui and asked her to kill Tian Yao. Yan Hui knew that Tian Yao wasn't that kind of person, so she hugged him tightly, allowing Tian Yao to suppress his urge to kill and escape from the illusion. Tian Yao returned to the Luochuan Dragon Valley and witnessed Yan Hui being controlled by dark energy, killing the little spirits. Tian Yao would rather let Yan Hui's sword pierce his own body than kill her. He successfully passed the test and emerged from the illusion along with Yan Hui. Finally, they obtained the Ghostly Assignment from Xue Lin's hands.
