Huan Xiaoyan, driven by her grudge against the illusion clan, wished to kill Zhao Gong, but Yan Hui quickly advised her to be rational, as they were currently in the realm of Qingqiu and should let the Lord of Qingqiu make the decision.

Chang Lan was the true master of the Eye Technique. In order to protect himself, he had Zhao Gong perform many acts. When the compass found the entrance to the cave, Chang Lan was inside the cave. Zhao Gong was ordered to destroy the compass and then steal the Dark Soul Gift, diverting everyone's attention to himself and protecting Chang Lan, the mysterious child. Taking advantage of the wedding, Chang Lan used the Eye Technique on everyone. Zhao Gong only needed to help him with the final act. Zhao Gong understood that Chang Lan intended to send him off and accepted the pill from Chang Lan. In order to keep track of Chang Lan's movements, Huan Xiaoyan didn't leave Qingqiu with Yan Hui and Tian Yao. She left a mark on Yan Hui's hand so that she could seek their help if she encountered danger. Tian Yao was willing to go against the entire Qingqiu to protect Yan Hui, which made her regain her trust in him.
