Tian Yao protected Yan Hui as they escaped. Both of them became wanted individuals, and the demons of Qingqiu were enticed by the high value placed on Yan Hui and Yu Mingfu. Yan Hui and Tian Yao were also on the wanted list, but Yan Hui concealed her identity with a veil. She noticed a suspicious person wearing a poorly made headgear nearby, suspecting that he was after the reward money. She signaled Tian Yao, and they tried to avoid him.

Bai Xiaosheng was still unconscious, and as long as he remained asleep, no one would know what had happened to Chen Yi. Tian Yao knew of a resurrection herb that could wake someone from a deep sleep, so he took Yan Hui to buy it. However, they found a wanted poster hanging next to the stall, and when a gust of wind blew, Yan Hui's face was revealed, and the stall owner recognized her. The stall owner chose to burn the herb instead of selling it, but Yan Hui quickly snatched it and told Tian Yao to leave the money and run. The stall owner exposed Tian Yao and Yan Hui's identities with a loud shout, and the demons quickly surrounded them, throwing vegetable leaves at them. Yan Hui realized that the situation was unfavorable and hurriedly pulled Tian Yao away, but one demon managed to catch up to them. Tian Yao prepared to take action, but the demon quickly removed his headgear, revealing himself as Feng Qianshuo. Feng Qianshuo's appearance relieved Yan Hui and Tian Yao from their immediate danger, and they followed him to Qingqiu's Forgotten Language Tower.

Xian Ge was the person Chen Yi had sent to Xuanmen for a mission. When she returned to Qingqiu, she had tried to find Chen Yi multiple times, but she was always told that he was in seclusion. This made her suspicious, so she secretly used a communication charm. Unexpectedly, Chang Lan answered the call, so Xian Ge quickly ended the conversation and hid in the Forgotten Language Tower. Yan Hui told Xian Ge that she was still alive because of the dark energy, and Xian Ge was surprised when she saw the black flowers on Yan Hui's head. Yan Hui then began to explain starting from when she dug out the heart-protecting scale from herself to save the little spirit, all the way to her current situation. Xian Ge immediately expressed her willingness to help Yan Hui, but Yan Hui didn't want Xian Ge to take risks for her. However, Xian Ge insisted that finding Chen Yi was something she had to do.

Tian Yao wanted to invest in the Forgotten Language Tower, and Feng Qianshuo initially thought Tian Yao had no money. However, Tian Yao took out the dowry he had prepared for Yan Hui, dazzling Feng Qianshuo's eyes, so he immediately agreed to let Tian Yao invest. Bai Xiaosheng was still in the bag and was the first to be taken out by Feng Qianshuo. Tian Yao found Bai Xiaosheng annoying and asked Feng Qianshuo to take him away. Yan Hui prepared the herbal medicine and went to feed it to Bai Xiaosheng. Seeing Yan Hui's attentive behavior, Tian Yao couldn't help but feel jealous. He took the bowl from Yan Hui's hand and forcefully fed it to Bai Xiaosheng, who immediately woke up and revealed that Chen Yi had likely gone to Black River Source.

Yan Hui and Tian Yao were now wanted everywhere, making it very inconvenient for them to travel. Yan Hui came up with an idea and realized that everyone in Qingqiu wanted to trade Yu Mingfu for a reward. So she asked Feng Qianshuo to widely distribute Yu Mingfu's information. Qing Guang Zhenren was scared by the large number of people who came to claim the reward and was worried that the treasury would be emptied. Therefore, he had the reward posters torn down. In the place where Bai Xiaosheng was trapped, Yun Meng discovered the marriage contract that had been written by her for Tian Yao and Yan Hui. The ink from the contract had splattered all over, and Yun Meng deduced that Chen Yi had been killed while Yan Hui was there. Before Yun Meng could spread the news, Chang Lan suddenly appeared and trapped him in the place where she had been imprisoned as a child, using her pupil technique to prevent Yun Meng from speaking.

Yan Hui, Tian Yao, and Xian Ge hurriedly headed towards the Black River Source. Along the way, they encountered a disheveled Ling Xiao, who informed them that Chang Lan had pretended to negotiate but actually intended to provoke a great war between the Xuan and Yao realms. Therefore, it became even more urgent to find Chen Yi and have him return to Qingqiu. Chang Lan had already sent Ying Huo to guard the Black River Source. After Ying Huo mesmerized the three of them, she became infatuated with Tian Yao and demanded that he give her the nine main stars in Yan Hui's sea of consciousness. She also wanted Tian Yao to break up with Yan Hui and marry her instead. Tian Yao refused to agree. Ying Huo then went to find Yan Hui. At that moment, Yan Hui and Xian Ge had just awakened. Yan Hui knew that Xian Ge had an item that belonged to Chen Yi, so she urged Xian Ge to quickly find Chen Yi while she stayed behind to deal with Ying Huo. When she heard that Ying Huo wanted Tian Yao to break up with her, she saw an opportunity to go with Ying Huo to meet Tian Yao.

Facing Yan Hui's questioning, Tian Yao only mentioned that the nine main stars in Yan Hui's sea of consciousness were from the many demons in Yongzhou who had left residual spiritual power when giving their power to Yan Hui. Yan Hui didn't consider it important and suggested giving it to Ying Huo in exchange for Tian Yao's freedom, but Tian Yao firmly refused. Xian Ge traveled through the night and was exhausted when she was surrounded by a group of black-clothed individuals. These people were also sent by Chang Lan to intercept Xian Ge and her group. Xian Ge was no match for them, and when she was in despair, someone appeared and drove away the black-clothed individuals.
