Ling Fei looked at the scars on his face and harbored intense hatred towards Tian Yao and Yan Hui. His overwhelming resentment attracted Fu Yin, who captured him into his sea of consciousness. Fu Yin revealed himself as the master of the dark energy and also the owner of Yun Meng. Ling Fei blamed Fu Yin for robbing him of his power and turning him into a useless person. However, Fu Yin believed it was Ling Fei's own choice since it was Ling Fei who wanted to save Su Ying, and he merely provided a method. Ling Fei felt some regret but dared not admit it. Fu Yin, aware of Ling Fei's hatred for Yan Hui, showed Ling Fei the miserable state of Yan Hui being whipped by Ling Xiao. However, it was not enough to alleviate Ling Fei's resentment. In order to gain power, Ling Fei submitted to Fu Yin.

Yan Hui woke up on the Fallen Star Platform, with her greatest concern being Tian Yao. She knew that Tian Yao would face great danger in the Heavenly Slaughter Formation and begged Zhou Zichen to release her so she could save Tian Yao. However, only Ling Xiao and Ling Fei had the ability to lift the Fallen Star Platform's seal. Zhou Zichen, feeling pity for Yan Hui, went to plead with Ling Xiao. After much persuasion, Zhou Zichen failed to change Ling Xiao's mind. Ling Xiao was fixated on Qing Guang's words and the need to destroy the protective scale, so releasing Yan Hui was simply impossible. Zhou Zichen couldn't understand Ling Xiao's reasons and felt disheartened. After all, Yan Hui had never done anything wrong, and she had been by Ling Xiao's side for ten years. It was unreasonable for Ling Xiao to harm Yan Hui.

On the Fallen Star Platform, Yan Hui was already weak and dejected, but Ling Xiao showed no mercy and continued to whip her nine times. Su Ying was not satisfied and demanded that Ling Xiao kill Yan Hui on the spot. However, Ling Xiao refused, stating that once he administered the punishment of nine lashes each day for a total of eighty-one lashes, he could destroy the protective scale while still sparing Yan Hui's life.

Zhou Zichen knelt in front of Ling Xiao's door all night, but Ling Xiao remained resolute. Ziyue, seeing Zhou Zichen's efforts for Yan Hui, secretly brought her food. Yan Hui still wanted to save Tian Yao and preserve her own life, so she ate voraciously. Although Ziyue had never liked Yan Hui before, she had never intended to take her life. She advised Yan Hui that if she managed to escape, she should avoid any further involvement with the demonic clan. Yan Hui argued that not all demons were evil, which displeased Ziyue. She left Yan Hui with a bowl of food and departed.

Su Ying secretly approached the Starry Sky Platform, where the dark energy on Qing Guang attacked her. However, Su Ying easily dispelled it. She knew that this seal wouldn't last long, so she wanted Ling Xiao to kill Yan Hui immediately upon his arrival in order to destroy the protective scale. After all, the protective scale was what Fu Yin desired. Ling Xiao forbade Su Ying from interfering with his internal affairs, stating that he would protect the Xuan Clan and Yan Hui's life. He promised to administer the full punishment of eighty-one lashes. Su Ying believed that every day's delay meant more variables. Suddenly, a sudden change occurred, and the Heavenly Slaughter Formation was activated on the Fallen Star Platform. Ling Xiao intended to rush back to save Yan Hui, but Su Ying intercepted him, claiming that it was the will of heaven.

On the Fallen Star Platform, Zhou Zichen's pleas to Ling Xiao were in vain, so he instructed Ziyue to spread the word about releasing Yan Hui. However, when he tried to break the chains with his sword, he was repeatedly thrown back and injured, unable to break them. Undeterred, Zhou Zichen was determined to save Yan Hui at any cost and continued to attack the chains, risking his life. Unexpectedly, Ling Fei suddenly arrived at the Fallen Star Platform, using the authority of the Discipline Hall's staff to activate the Heavenly Slaughter Formation. Zhou Zichen tried to stop him but was knocked unconscious. Yan Hui, under the influence of the killing formation, gradually weakened.

Tian Yao had been deeply worried about Yan Hui and had originally planned to retrieve the Dragon Tendon before breaking through the formation to save her. However, he sensed the weakening aura of the protective scale and knew that Yan Hui was in danger. In order to save Yan Hui, he activated the Life Exchange Curse. Yan Hui knew that if the killing formation continued, Tian Yao would die. For the sake of her beloved, Yan Hui had to humbly beg Ling Fei to stop the killing formation. Ling Fei took great pleasure in this and laughed maniacally. Tian Yao used the Life Exchange Curse to enter the killing formation and, in the form of a spiritual dragon, took Yan Hui away. Su Ying and Ling Xiao were astonished that Tian Yao had actually used the Life Exchange Curse for Yan Hui, sacrificing himself in her place. They were shocked by this selfless act.

Tian Yao brought Yan Hui to the bank of the Black River. She recalled their encounters, love, separation, and deep understanding, feeling reluctant to part with Tian Yao. Tian Yao also couldn't bear to leave Yan Hui. Originally, he had hoped that once everything settled, they could live a carefree life together, but now all hope was gone. As Tian Yao spoke, tears streamed down his face. He and Yan Hui looked at each other with tear-filled eyes, feeling a great sense of loss. However, Tian Yao could not exist in this world and dissipated into the void. Yan Hui cried and futilely reached out her hand, trying to grasp Tian Yao, but it was all in vain. She couldn't help but curse herself as useless and attempt to enter the state of "Yin Ming Fu" but failed to do so. Ling Xiao and Su Ying arrived together, blocking Yan Hui from both sides. Yan Hui chose to plunge into the Black River. Su Ying believed that Yan Hui was doomed, so she left, while Ling Xiao secretly resented himself for not saving Yan Hui's life.
