Yan Hui returned to Qingqiu with the dragon egg. After Chen Yi confirmed that Tian Yao's dragon consciousness had returned, she knew that they only needed to wait for him to wake up. However, the awakening process was uncertain and depended on fate. Yan Hui was delighted to know that Tian Yao still had a chance at life, and she was willing to wait no matter how long it took. Ling Xiao felt remorseful for being manipulated by Fu Yin and almost acted against Yan Hui. He blamed himself for being torn between the righteous and evil factions and almost succumbing to Fu Yin's desires. Ling Xiao recalled the time when Qing Guang had informed him about the Starfall Platform, which was designed to kill powerful demons, but three grandmasters had died there because they had become obsessed. Ling Xiao entrusted Zhou Zichen with the other key that could unlock the stars and instructed him to open the killing formation without hesitation if he noticed any signs of Ling Xiao falling into darkness. Zhou Zichen noticed that Ling Xiao had aged significantly since Yan Hui jumped into the Black River and became weaker after using the key. He questioned Ling Xiao about it, but Ling Xiao felt it wasn't the right time to reveal the truth. He promised Zhou Zichen that he would inform him when the time was right, leaving Zhou Zichen worried about Ling Xiao's well-being and the need to activate the killing formation.

Ling Xiao entrusted Zhou Zichen to take care of the key and inform him immediately if anything unusual happened. He then set off for Qingqiu. Ling Xiao's arrival caused great tension in Qingqiu. When Zhu Li heard the news, he instinctively wanted to confront Ling Xiao, but Huan Xiaoyan clarified that Ling Xiao had come alone and hadn't taken any aggressive actions. She believed that Ling Xiao had no ill intentions and quickly restrained Zhu Li's impulsive behavior. Ling Xiao's purpose in coming to Qingqiu was to inform Chen Yi about the predicament of the key that could unlock the stars. Chen Yi, considering the bigger picture, expressed her willingness to cooperate with Chenxing Mountain in this matter.

Yan Hui had been particularly focused on incubating the dragon egg. She never forgot about it, whether she was walking or resting. One day, she was talking to the dragon egg, and it emitted a faint light, but Yan Hui didn't notice it. Xian Ge and Feng Qianshuo learned of Yan Hui's return and came to visit her. Feng Qianshuo, considering himself knowledgeable, believed that the dragon egg was indestructible and wanted to test it by poking it. He even convinced Yan Hui to tap the egg, but to their surprise, the egg emitted a radiant glow. Worried that something might be wrong with the egg, Yan Hui exerted pressure on Feng Qianshuo, emanating a sinister aura that made him break out in a cold sweat. Fortunately, the dragon egg sprouted dragon horns, and Yan Hui's worry turned into joy. Xian Ge quickly pulled Feng Qianshuo away, fearing that he might anger Yan Hui and put his life at risk.

Yan Hui happily embraced the dragon egg and slept with it. The next day, she woke up to find another person in her bed. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was Tian Yao. She was overjoyed, but also concerned that Tian Yao's transformation might have caused problems. She carefully examined him and found him completely unharmed, which made Yan Hui blush. When Tian Yao opened his eyes and saw the dark aura around Yan Hui, he immediately breathed fire at her. Yan Hui was chased around by Tian Yao's fire, but she had no way to defend herself. Fortunately, Chen Yi used a calming spell to subdue Tian Yao and make him calm down. Chen Yi was worried that Yan Hui might not be able to control Tian Yao, so she gave her a stack of backup spells.

Yan Hui prepared food specifically for Tian Yao but as soon as she removed the talisman from his mouth, he attempted to breathe fire again. Helpless, Yan Hui had to apply the calming spell once more. This method was not sustainable, as it made Tian Yao, who was like an innocent child, resentful. Tian Yao struggled to control his fire-breathing but couldn't seem to do it. One day, when the talisman was torn off, he transformed into a fire and ran away. Yan Hui was extremely worried and searched everywhere with others, but they couldn't find him.

While searching for Tian Yao, Xian Ge began to experience symptoms of nausea. Feng Qianshuo initially thought it was due to Xian Ge overeating, but it turned out she was pregnant. This news delighted Feng Qianshuo, and he immediately took Xian Ge back, abandoning the search for Tian Yao. Yan Hui saw a figure in the forest that resembled Tian Yao, so she chased after it, only to discover that it was Lu Musheng bringing flowers to visit Yun Xi. Yan Hui knew that Lu Musheng's time was running out and hoped that Yun Xi could visit him in a dream. However, she feared that it might not happen and proposed using the dark aura to extend Lu Musheng's life. However, Lu Musheng only wished to follow fate and didn't want to force anything. He longed to reunite with Yun Xi as soon as possible and declined Yan Hui's offer. Lu Musheng believed that the newly hatched spirit dragon was searching for a safe place, so Yan Hui immediately realized that Tian Yao was still in the palace and found him by the cold spring. Tian Yao had a scratch on his face, and when Yan Hui tried to apply medicine, she accidentally burned herself, realizing that as the Lord of Darkness, she was incompatible with Tian Yao and even the slightest touch caused her harm.
