Because Fan Yue insisted that Bai Shuo not face danger alone and insisted on accompanying her, Bai Shuo had no choice but to agree. Mu Jiu suddenly came to find Bai Shuo to thank her for her righteous rescue the night before. Since she also spared Fu Ling during that rescue, Mu Jiu felt both grateful and guilty.

As a token of appreciation, he gave Bai Shuo the second Heartfire and promised to help them investigate the underground palace in advance. Cang Shan noticed that the Master of Bright Moon Palace seemed happier after losing his memory and even thought it might not be a bad thing if things stayed this way. However, Tian Huo disagreed, saying that if Fan Yue did not bury his former, innocent self, he would never have survived until now.

Coincidentally, Fan Yue overheard their conversation and asked Cang Shan about his and Bai Shuo’s love story. Cang Shan was surprised and bluntly stated that there was never any romantic relationship between them. He also mentioned what happened in Ning'an City, which left Fan Yue feeling conflicted. Meanwhile, Bai Shuo prepared to attend the banquet that evening.

Zhong Zhao guessed that her determination to attend was to collect the thoughts necessary to activate the Desireless Stone and offered to help her. The other members of the Eternal and Demon Races also prepared to go to the palace. Despite knowing that the palace could be a trap, each had their own reasons for going and refused to back down.

On their way to the palace, Bai Shuo, Fan Yue, Tian Huo, and Cang Shan saw many citizens releasing sky lanterns in the square to make wishes. Since the Irregulars were abandoned by all races and had no gods to turn to, they wrote their wishes on the lanterns as a way to remind themselves to rely on their own efforts.

Following Fan Yue’s suggestion, he, Bai Shuo, Tian Huo, and Cang Shan each wrote their wishes and released the lanterns, carrying their hopes into the night sky. Taking this opportunity, Fan Yue told Bai Shuo that he had learned they were not lovers. However, he expressed that he both hoped he was not the version of himself who hurt her and wished to become a stronger Fan Yue capable of protecting her from harm.

As fireworks lit up the sky, Fan Yue apologized to Bai Shuo and confessed his feelings, leaving a parting kiss on the corner of her lips. Soon after, everyone gathered at the Irregular King's palace. Hua Lin appeared and announced that the winner of the Wutong Martial Banquet could take a spiritual elixir as their reward. He then declared his intention to open the Irregular City to the world after that night, allowing the Irregulars to reintegrate into society.

This statement drew ridicule and opposition from the Eternal and Demon Races. Hua Lin dismissed the reaction, claiming it was merely his personal opinion, and invited representatives of the three races to light the wutong branch together. This act gave birth to the third Heartfire. Since the Heartfires of the Wutong Tree are inherently connected, the third Heartfire was dim and needed the other two to awaken it.

Under pressure from the crowd, Bai Shuo reluctantly took out the two Heartfires she possessed. At that moment, Hua Lin suddenly activated a barrier and declared that the palace would become the grave for the Eternal and Demon Races. Meanwhile, Mu Jiu successfully sneaked into the underground palace to rescue Hua Yong but was intercepted and captured by Wu Zhao and his men.

Chaos broke out in the main hall as Tian Huo seized the three Heartfires amidst the commotion and handed them to Bai Shuo. Cang Shan and Tian Huo stayed behind to protect Bai Shuo, Fan Yue, and Zhong Zhao as they escaped the hall. The three made their way to the underground palace, where Fu Ling, with Wu Zhao's assistance, used her spiritual power within the Irregular City. The three were overpowered by Fu Ling and captured.

Elsewhere, Nan Wan and Bei Chen were also trying to escape but were caught again. Grateful to Bei Chen for saving her, Nan Wan came to understand that his arrogant and unruly demeanor masked his desperation to save his younger brother. Tian Huo created three fake Heartfires and lured Hua Lin to Mei Han's courtyard. There, she furiously criticized his god-making ritual, accusing him of bringing disaster upon Irregular City.

Hua Lin refuted her accusations and revealed a long-hidden truth: years ago, he and Mei Han had planned a fake death to stabilize public opinion. Hua Lin had given Mei Han a Fire-Avoidance Pearl and left an escape route under the furnace. However, the plan went awry when Wu Zhao, deceived by a sorcerer, replaced the real Fire-Avoidance Pearl with a fake, leading to Mei Han's untimely death.

Just as Hua Lin finished speaking, Wu Zhao appeared, shedding his pretense to reveal his ambition and strength. He admitted that Mei Han’s death had been orchestrated by him. This revelation allowed Tian Huo and Hua Lin to reconcile their years-long estrangement as father and daughter. Tragically, Hua Lin was gravely injured by Wu Zhao and died in Tian Huo's arms.

At the same time, in the underground palace, Fu Ling forced Bai Shuo to choose between saving Fan Yue or Zhong Zhao, leaving Bai Shuo with an agonizing decision.
