Although both Fan Yue and Zhong Zhao were important to Bai Shuo, she knew that given Zhong Zhao’s current condition, he would find it difficult to break through the siege of the Palace of the Other King. Fan Yue, however, had just consumed the last pill and was likely to recover his memory that very night. If they could hold on until he regained his memory, there might be a chance to turn the tide and save everyone.

For this reason, Bai Shuo ultimately chose Fan Yue. Zhong Zhao felt disappointed, and Fu Ling, seeing this, mocked him and took the opportunity to shake his resolve. Wu Zhao brought Tian Huo to the underground palace, openly revealing his alliance with Cold Spring Palace. He used the three Heartfires to activate the “God Creation” formation. At that moment, Fan Yue began regaining his memory, while Hua Yong returned to his original form, showing no response to Wu Zhao’s summoning.

As Wu Zhao grew confused, Fu Ling suddenly stabbed him, claiming that the so-called “God Creation” formation was, in fact, a killing formation. Its purpose was to turn Hua Yong into a killing weapon, draw the Sword of the Other King, and take Bai Shuo’s Desireless Stone. As Hua Yong charged toward Bai Shuo with the Sword of the Other King, Fan Yue activated the Seven-Star Soul Burning Seal and unleashed his demon power to stop Hua Yong.

Bai Shuo noticed the seven stars glowing on Fan Yue’s chest, which quickly began absorbing the “killing” thoughts from the formation. As a result, the Other City began to shake, endangering the lives of its inhabitants. Zhong Zhao was pinned under falling rocks, but Fu Ling used her protective demon flower to shield his heart, then took him out of the city.

To prevent the collapse of the underground palace, Bai Shuo reinserted the Sword of the Other King into its pedestal. The sword’s spirit transformed into a ring and chose Bai Shuo as its master, calming the city’s turmoil. However, due to the sword’s powerful aura, Bai Shuo’s mortal body couldn’t withstand it. Fan Yue rushed forward to shield her from the sword’s energy, causing him to fall into a coma.

Now that Rong Xian’s formation pillar had been removed and the city’s barrier was lifted, even Nan Wan returned with the Wutong Elixir for her younger brother. People began leaving one after another. Bai Shuo wanted to rescue Zhong Zhao, but Tian Huo reassured her that disciples from the Lanling Sect had already been informed, and his safety was in good hands. Hua Yong later visited the inn to reconcile with his sister Tian Huo.

The siblings completely resolved their misunderstandings. When asked about his plans, Hua Yong said that the Other City was in ruins and needed rebuilding. He wanted to rebuild it with his clan and invited Bai Shuo to become the King of the Others, but she politely declined, believing Hua Yong was better suited for the role. Back at the Unbridled Pavilion, Fan Yue remained unconscious, suffering immense pain from the effects of the Seven-Star Soul Burning Seal.

Seeing Fan Yue coughing up blood, Bai Shuo’s heart ached. She anxiously questioned Tian Huo, finally learning about the origin of the seal. Long ago, Fan Yue’s clan faced a disaster, leaving him as the sole survivor. To seek revenge, he practiced various demon arts, leading to their backlash. Now, only two stars in the seal were still lit, meaning he had only two chances left. Once all seven stars went out, his soul would be obliterated. Bai Shuo finally understood.

She had previously thought that Tian Huo and Cang Shan were seeking the Desireless Stone for other purposes, but she now realized it was to save Fan Yue’s life. Tian Huo shared how she had almost died at the hands of bandits but was saved by Fan Yue. Despite his fearsome reputation, the true Master of Bright Moon Palace was compassionate, protecting the weaker demons.

People followed Fan Yue not because of his strength but because of his empathy for all living beings. At that moment, Bai Shuo realized what kind of person Fan Yue was and resolved to gather the Five Desires to save him. Meanwhile, the Cold Spring Palace members reviewed the events in the Other City. Chen Ye proposed creating demonic insects, which required a significant amount of demon marrow, spiritual veins, and human lives.

Fu Ling had brought Zhong Zhao back from the Other City and imprisoned him in a secret chamber. When Zhong Zhao learned that Fu Ling had saved him with her protective demon flower, he didn’t hesitate to draw a dagger and carve the flower out of himself, vowing never to ally with her. The Lanling Sect discussed rescuing Zhong Zhao.

Initially, they wanted to save him, but later, they saw this as an opportunity to have him infiltrate the Cold Spring Palace. Elsewhere, Bai Shuo waited for Fan Yue to wake up and asked him about the events in the Other City.

Fan Yue told her there was no need to feel guilty—he had saved her not only to protect her but also to prevent the Other King’s Sword from being destroyed, as that would have led to the city’s complete ruin and the deaths of everyone. However, Bai Shuo saw through his excuse and pressed him about his memories of the city. Fan Yue admitted he remembered everything, including Mu Mu.

Meanwhile, Mu Jiu, who had fallen in love with Tian Huo at first sight in the Other City, had followed her all the way to the Unbridled Pavilion. Despite Tian Huo’s repeated rejections, he insisted on staying at the pavilion, pestering her endlessly. At Tian Huo’s suggestion, Cang Shan tied Mu Jiu up, but he remained undeterred, boldly proclaiming that he would pursue her even in death. In the end, Fan Yue allowed Mu Jiu to stay and assigned him to the most grueling tasks.
