During her free time, Bai Shuo wrote letters to Lao Gui, sharing her recent experiences and revealing that Fan Yue had the Seven-Star Soul-Burning Seal in his body, with only two stars remaining, endangering his life. She sought Lao Gui's help to find a solution. Bai Shuo often worked tirelessly to craft pills to counter the seal, often passing out from exhaustion. Luckily, Fan Yue would find her in time and carry her back to her room.

However, in her sleep, she called out "Mu Mu," leading Fan Yue to misunderstand and feel jealous. The next morning, Bai Shuo personally brought pills to Fan Yue, but he confronted her about a previous kiss. Bai Shuo explained that Mu Mu's kiss was a farewell gesture, but Fan Yue refused to listen, pulling her into his arms and kissing her to prove he was different from Mu Mu.

Bai Shuo reminded him that Mu Mu was his past self, and they were always one and the same. In Cold Spring Palace’s dungeon, Jin Yao questioned the purpose of the God-Creation technique. To uncover its true intent, he persuaded Zhong Zhao to infiltrate Cold Spring as a spy to gather information, directly targeting Zhen Yu's schemes. Zhong Zhao, disheartened that his master had come not to rescue him but to send him into danger, reluctantly agreed.

Considering Bai Shuo, Jin Yao promised Zhong Zhao that if the two were ever to cross swords, he would ensure Bai Shuo learned the truth. During a meal, Bai Shuo suddenly had a nosebleed, drawing Fan Yue's attention. Upon learning that this had been happening since she returned from the Strange City, Fan Yue suspected it was related to the Ring of the Strange King. Bai Shuo admitted she had felt a new power but was unable to harness it.

Fan Yue contacted Lao Gui to inquire about Bai Shuo’s condition. Lao Gui divined that Bai Shuo’s Human Race body could not withstand divine power. As the Desireless Stone gathered more "wills," its divine power grew. When all five wills were collected, Bai Shuo's body would likely be destroyed. Shocked and enraged, Fan Yue demanded Lao Gui find a solution.

Lao Gui suggested acquiring the Fox Clan's treasure, the Weak Water Stone, which could provide endless spiritual energy to suppress the backlash from the Desireless Stone. Bai Shuo continued crafting pills by the furnace when Tian Huo approached her for a conversation. Knowing Bai Shuo was Fan Yue's only vulnerability, Tian Huo warned her never to betray him. However, after learning the truth about Bai Shuo’s condition, Fan Yue became cold and distant, leaving Bai Shuo confused.

When she sought answers from her master, Fan Yue shattered the tortoiseshell in anger. Meanwhile, Fu Ling forced Zhong Zhao to kill immortals in an attempt to corrupt him into a demon. Zhong Zhao refused, but when Fu Ling killed two people, he had no choice but to kill one to save the other two. However, Fu Ling killed the remaining two anyway, marveling at how useful Chen Ye’s demonic worms were.

Tormented, Zhong Zhao remembered his master’s instructions and endured his grief, swearing loyalty to Cold Spring Palace. Fan Yue shared Bai Shuo's condition with Tian Huo, who then sought information about the Weak Water Stone from Mu Jiu. This led to an encounter with the Fox Clan elder Chang Sheng, and Tian Huo followed Mu Jiu to the Fox Clan.

Hearing of Tian Huo’s disappearance, Fan Yue deduced her intention and decided to head to the Fox Clan himself, leaving Bai Shuo behind at the Unbridled Pavilion. In the Quiet Mountain, Chang Mei, the Fox Clan leader, demanded Mu Jiu take the position of Mountain Lord. However, Mu Jiu refused, desiring freedom. Chang Mei used Tian Huo’s life as leverage. Mu Jiu admitted he liked Tian Huo but also cherished his free-spirited life.

Chang Mei proposed a wager: if Mu Jiu could convince Tian Huo to marry him within three days, he would grant Mu Jiu his freedom. Lao Gui visited the Unbridled Pavilion to check on Bai Shuo. Noticing her feelings for Fan Yue, he encouraged her to go to the Fox Clan to find him.

Bai Shuo, knowing that Chang Mei was one of the three Demon Kings, feared that if Fan Yue truly clashed with the Fox Clan, he would be at a disadvantage. She hurriedly made her way to Quiet Mountain. At this time, Fan Yue and Cang Shan split up, with Cang Shan investigating the Weak Water Stone while Fan Yue met with Chang Mei to negotiate. He agreed to give Mu Jiu three days but demanded the Weak Water Stone in return.
