When Zhong Zhao unexpectedly appeared, Fan Yue became jealous and said some harsh words, leading to an argument with Bai Shuo. Fan Yue even declared that once the Desireless Stone was handed over to him, the two of them would completely sever their ties. Bai Shuo was deeply shocked by his words, and they parted on bad terms. Meanwhile, Tian Huo sought information from Mu Jiu about a tree capable of devouring people.

Mu Jiu had never heard of such a tree and brought her to the Emotion Tree. Despite his sincere confession, the tree showed no reaction. Shortly after Mu Jiu and Tian Huo left, Fu Ling also approached the Emotion Tree. Suddenly, she experienced an illusion of Zhong Zhao treating her gently. In the next moment, the tree attacked her with its vines. Fortunately, Fu Ling reacted quickly and dodged, though she sustained minor injuries.

She speculated that the tree only targeted outsiders. Chang Mei took the initiative to approach Bai Shuo and handed wedding attire to Tian Huo. Bai Shuo tried to console Chang Mei with insights from the events in the Resentful Realm, but Chang Mei was unresponsive. Bai Shuo noticed the corroded wound on Chang Mei's hand and began to suspect that Cang Shan's earlier attack might be related to her.

She discreetly tested Elder Chang Sheng, confirming he was not A Qi from a thousand years ago. For Bai Shuo, several mysteries remained unresolved, such as the whereabouts of A Qi and Xiao Ba, and the fact that Chang Mei claimed she had no romantic connections. However, it was clear she had developed mutual feelings with A Qi in the past, forming a bond.

For Fan Yue's sake, Bai Shuo advised Cang Shan to keep the matter private for now and observe further developments. Fan Yue listened to Tian Huo's report and prepared to investigate the Emotion Tree that night. Tian Huo, perceiving Fan Yue's affection for Bai Shuo, advised him to prioritize their mutual well-being and protect himself. Fan Yue understood and resolved to clarify things with Bai Shuo after the matter was settled.

Similarly, Fan Yue noticed Tian Huo's feelings for Mu Jiu and expressed his hope that Tian Huo could let go of her emotional burdens and find a lifelong companion. He also emphasized the deep friendship among himself, Tian Huo, and Cang Shan after years of camaraderie. That night, Fu Ling planned to lure Fan Yue to the Emotion Tree and have Zhong Zhao abduct Bai Shuo.

Meanwhile, Chang Mei learned from Mu Jiu that Fan Yue had defied fate in the Resentful Realm to save Ling Long's child, leaving her astonished. She instructed Mu Jiu to ensure no one from Bright Moon Palace attended the wedding before it took place. Cang Shan, furious upon hearing about Tian Huo and Mu Jiu's marriage, confronted Mu Jiu. Tian Huo clarified it was a fake marriage, and Mu Jiu discerned Cang Shan's feelings.

Later, Fu Ling guided Fan Yue to the Emotion Tree, while Zhong Zhao attempted to abduct Bai Shuo. Zhong Zhao claimed that Fan Yue could no longer control her, leaving Bai Shuo alarmed. Upon hearing that Fan Yue had gone to the Emotion Tree, Bai Shuo adamantly refused to leave. When news broke that members of the Demon Race had been attacked by Fu Ling, who had cut off their tails, Chang Mei grew suspicious.

Bai Shuo hurried to Chang Mei and persuaded her to take her to the Emotion Tree. Meanwhile, Fan Yue, noticing something strange about the tree, fell into an illusion and was willingly absorbed. As Fu Ling prepared to destroy the tree and kill Fan Yue, Chang Mei arrived with Bai Shuo, forcing Fu Ling to flee. Bai Shuo saw Fan Yue being consumed by the Emotion Tree and tried to rescue him. Her blood flowed into the tree, awakening him.

Fan Yue broke free from the tree's bindings while holding Bai Shuo. A spirit emerged to attack, but Bai Shuo dispersed it. Chang Mei pursued Fu Ling, injuring her severely, but Zhong Zhao appeared and rescued Fu Ling. Afterward, Chang Mei noticed a faint vitality returning to the Emotion Tree and speculated it was due to the power of the Desireless Stone. Similarly, Fan Yue deduced that the spirit attacking them was the tree spirit.

He explained that while inside the tree, he sensed a corpse beneath its roots emanating faint spiritual energy. The corpse had likely been a great demon in life, and the tree, having long since declined, had relied on devouring living beings for spiritual energy to survive. Bai Shuo concluded she had uncovered the spirit's true identity. Fu Ling, seeing Zhong Zhao injured while protecting her, personally tended to his wounds.

She eagerly sought his feelings, but Zhong Zhao resolutely declared that his heart belonged to Bai Shuo, leaving Fu Ling heartbroken. Chang Mei suddenly saw a figure resembling A Qi and chased after it to the Emotion Tree, only to find Fan Yue in disguise. Meanwhile, Bai Shuo confronted Chang Wu alone and identified him as Xiao Ba, to which Chang Wu gladly confessed.
