Moonlight Mystique Episode 29 Recap
> Moonlight Mystique Recap
Bai Shuo sensed the subtle atmosphere between the two and suppressed her discomfort. She asked Luan Zhu about Lao Gui's whereabouts. Suddenly, Lao Gui emerged from the crowd and recognized Bai Shuo and Fan Yue. The three of them temporarily found a place to stay in Bodhi Village. However, Bai Shuo felt a pang of jealousy because of Fan Yue’s strange emotions toward Luan Zhu.
After some questioning, Fan Yue had no words to respond, and his inner anger grew even stronger. Soon after, Bai Shuo dragged Lao Gui outside and pressed him for the reason behind his disappearance, as well as the situation in Bodhi Village. Lao Gui explained that he had been chased by Zhen Yu and had fled to Bodhi Village.
He only knew that the villagers referred to Luan Zhu as the Goddess, and she had lived for a very long time, waiting for a lover who had been gone for sixty thousand years. Upon hearing this, Bai Shuo thought about Fan Yue's divine identity and speculated that the lover Luan Zhu was waiting for might be Jing Yuan. Lao Gui reminded Bai Shuo that, despite the passage of time, Fan Yue currently loved her.
However, she was still human, and her lifespan was only a little over a hundred years. Even if they were together, they would only be able to spend a few decades together. Lao Gui hoped Bai Shuo wouldn’t sacrifice too much of herself. If Fan Yue’s heart were to wander, she shouldn’t be too heartbroken. Fan Yue, seeking to understand his relationship with Luan Zhu, took the initiative to ask her.
Luan Zhu confessed that they had met sixty thousand years ago and had been together for a century, making vows of life and death. Her words left Fan Yue in turmoil. While he was clear about his own feelings, he could not deny the past between Jing Yuan and Luan Zhu. After Fan Yue left, Luan Zhu’s expression changed, and her determination to keep him by her side solidified.
At the same time, Zhong Zhao personally came to see Jin Yao and revealed that his parents had not died at the hands of the Demon Race. When Jin Yao learned that Fu Ling had given him this information, he angrily scolded Zhong Zhao for believing the words of a demon. Moreover, Fu Ling’s information didn’t provide any clues about the killer, so it couldn’t be confirmed that the murderer came from the Eternal Race.
Back in the room, Fan Yue told Bai Shuo everything Luan Zhu had said. Though Bai Shuo’s anger subsided slightly, she still felt jealous. Fan Yue, taking the initiative, hugged Bai Shuo and reassured her that, as Fan Yue, he loved only her—now, in the past, and in the future. This made Bai Shuo recall what Jing Yuan had once said, that her eyes resembled someone else’s, and she had assumed that person was Luan Zhu.
The next morning, Bai Shuo and Fan Yue strolled through the streets. To their surprise, everything they bought was free, and everyone had a happy smile on their face—there was no sign of suffering. Yet, Fan Yue felt that Bodhi Village appeared too perfect, which often signified something suspicious. Just then, Bai Shuo spotted Zhong Tai and Meng Ning, and was shocked. The couple avoided talking about the disappearance from years ago. Bai Shuo found it strange.
She knew Zhong Tai and Meng Ning cared deeply for Zhong Zhao, so why had they stayed hidden for so many years without visiting their son? She decided to write a letter to Zhong Zhao, telling him she had found his parents. Luan Zhu intercepted the letter, read its contents, and then let it fall into Zhong Zhao's hands.
She then privately summoned Zhong Tai and Meng Ning, using both soft and hard tactics to command them to treat their son Zhong Zhao well and find a way to extract more information about Bai Shuo from him. Zhong Zhao was overjoyed to receive the letter, and Fu Ling decided to accompany him to Bodhi Village.
Bai Shuo was not pleased to see Zhong Zhao bring Fu Ling along, but since the matter concerning Zhong Zhao's parents was important, she temporarily put her resentment aside. Zhong Zhao was finally reunited with his parents, and learned that they had been ambushed by the Eternal Race, their immortal powers shattered, but were saved by Luan Zhu, and had stayed in Bodhi Village ever since.
According to Zhong Tai and Meng Ning, they had not returned to visit their son because they feared it would bring trouble to him. Meng Ning was grateful that Bai Shuo had allowed them to reunite with their son. She took Bai Shuo and Fu Ling’s hands, calling them by their childhood names. Bai Shuo was startled, and Zhong Zhao quickly stepped forward to explain that Fu Ling was not Bai Xi. However, Bai Shuo began to have doubts.
Similarly, Fan Yue also suspected that Zhen Yu must have had a reason for bringing Bai Xi back to Lengquan Palace. Since Qi Feng could live on as Chen Ye, Bai Xi must also have some hidden identity. Inspired by Fan Yue, Bai Shuo decided to confront Fu Ling and inquire about her true identity. Fu Ling, still harsh with her words, intended to cut off Bai Shuo’s desire to investigate further.
Watching Bai Shuo’s departing figure, she tightly clenched her fists, forcing herself to endure the pain, and Zhong Zhao felt equally uncomfortable inside. Bai Shuo suspected that Fu Ling might be Bai Xi, but she found it hard to face this truth and planned to leave with Fan Yue.
Fu Ling also wanted Zhong Zhao to stay in Bodhi Village, but Zhong Zhao felt his parents were somewhat strange—they had never shown concern for how he had been living over the years. Meanwhile, Luan Zhu used magic to enter Fan Yue's dreams, showing him a scene of her and Jing Yuan’s love from sixty thousand years ago, leaving him disturbed.
