She praises Ye Wuzhi excessively, forgetting her own moderate skills. Meng Sanxi and Yan Sifang feel devalued by Ji Mingzhao, who is fixated on using Ye Wuzhi to eliminate all the criminals. They remind her that Ye Wuzhi's strength is insufficient for such a task and that it's easier for her to become the target. Ji Mingzhao, realizing the reality, decides to heed Liu Yungui's advice and focus on capturing the flower thief.
In the crowd, Ji Mingzhao feels the gaze of the flower thief, marking him as the target. She boasts about herself, alarming Meng Sanxi and others. Meng Sanxi suggests capturing the criminal at night to avoid attention, but Dai Menghui opposes the idea. He arrived late because he had to collect 150 taels in copper coins to pay for information. Since Meng Sanxi and others are known as his associates, leaving together would be suspicious. To maintain their cover, Dai Menghui insists they act collectively.

Eventually, drugged, he provides her description. Chen Bin is killed, and Zhao Tianshuo sacrifices himself for the sect.
Knowing Ran Haoling is the mastermind, Ye Wuzhi wants revenge. Dai Menghui and Wei Dongyang, aware of the consequences, stop her. Meng Sanxi suggests a plan: manipulating the thieves by making Yun Gui pretend to be a doctor, peek at the contract, alter the map, create discord among the three leaders, and then reveal Ye Wuzhi, drawing the pursuers into a trap. Wei Dongyang, fighting the thieves, displays the moves that killed Bei Xiaohai. When Ye Wuzhi is about to kill the leader, Meng Sanxi intervenes, holding her sword, pleading for her not to stain her hands with blood.
Ye Wuzhi stops, collapsing into Meng Sanxi's arms. Wei Dongyang, concerned, is denied a closer look by Meng Sanxi. Ji Mingzhao is perplexed by Meng Sanxi's inappropriate treatment of her lifesaver, while Yan Sifang suspects Meng Sanxi of wanting to monopolize Ye Wuzhi and Ji Mingzhao. Liu Yungui, to avoid future trouble, speculates that the other two leaders are almost defeated and decides to leave. Dai Menghui gains the approval of two leaders, with one offering him a stack of silver notes. The other finds money too vulgar and drapes a cloak made by his wife over Dai Menghui, encouraging him. Ji Mingzhao's Unnamed Emporium captures the flower thief, gaining praise from the public.
Injured, Ye Wuzhi leans on Meng Sanxi as they sit on a cart, pulled by Yan Sifang, while Ji Mingzhao walks beside them. When Ye Wuzhi wakes up, Yan Sifang suggests changing the person pulling the cart due to fatigue. However, everyone prefers the current arrangement, and Ji Mingzhao and Ye Wuzhi find the four-person group suitable for their journey.
