After a fruitless night of searching, Sima Wangyue was on the verge of collapse. Just as Sima Jin was persuading his daughter to prepare for the worst, Chen Yan returned to the military camp after overcoming numerous obstacles. It turned out that when Chen Yan sank into the quicksand that night, he happened to fall into a secret passage and found an exit, thus escaping unharmed.

Sima Jin didn't care about the secret passage but was more interested in the relationship between Chen Yan and his daughter. Chen Yan truthfully revealed their feelings for each other, expressing that they were deeply in love and hoping that Sima Jin would approve, even if it meant sacrificing his life. Sima Jin drew his sword and pointed it directly at Chen Yan, frightening Sima Wangyue, who quickly kneeled down and begged her father for mercy. However, Chen Yan remained fearless.

Suddenly, the next moment, Sima Jin burst into laughter, retracting his sword. He expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating that Chen Yan had passed his test. Touched by their deep affection, Sima Jin immediately decided to grant them marriage and arranged a grand wedding ceremony in the military camp in two days.

Everyone congratulated Chen Yan, except for Mu Nan, who ran out alone. He reflected on their past and the pain of knowing that his relationship with Sima Wangyue would forever be that of siblings. Meanwhile, Yi Er descended to search for prey and make delicious food. Unexpectedly, Mu Nan fell into a trap, and he found himself hanging from a tree. Yi Er didn't reveal her true identity to him but saved him and left.

That night, Chen Yan sneaked out of the military camp to meet Yin Keji. He confessed his feelings for Sima Wangyue, unable to bear to disappoint her deep affection and wanting to put an end to their plan of betrayal. However, Yin Keji owed Chen Yan a debt as his senior brother and benefactor, so no matter the reason, Chen Yan had to make a decision.

With the wedding approaching, Chen Yan took Sima Wangyue to the market to buy the necessary items. On the way, they were intercepted by Yin Keji, who reminded Chen Yan to stay vigilant and not let fiction become reality. Chen Yan suppressed his inner turmoil and hesitated. However, the day before their wedding, Yin Keji was unexpectedly captured.

Originally, Chen Yan planned to rescue Yin Keji from the prison when no one was watching, but Yin Keji had no intention of leaving. He prepared to use his own death to make Chen Yan determined. As Chen Yan left the prison cell, he coincidentally encountered Mu Nan, and the two of them, with their conflicting thoughts and pent-up emotions, engaged in a fierce fight until they were exhausted. They sat on a high place, looking at the moon, and talked heart-to-heart. Chen Yan wanted to entrust Sima Wangyue to Mu Nan, and in return, Mu Nan promised to protect both Chen Yan and Wangyue with his life.

In the end, Yin Keji was taken to the execution ground and beheaded. Chen Yan stood calmly beside, concealing the turbulent emotions within him. As the wedding proceeded as planned, the generals and soldiers joyously decorated the military camp. The red cloth and embroidered balls filled the atmosphere with happiness.

Sima Wangyue, dressed in her wedding attire, looked stunning as she walked side by side with Chen Yan, slowly approaching the marshal and the others to pay their respects. Chen Yan picked up a bow and arrow and shot at the embroidered ball. The wedding concluded successfully, and everyone happily drank and celebrated. Even Marshal Sima Jin personally sat with them, envisioning a peaceful life after the war, with marriage, children, and retirement for each and every one of them.

However, Chen Yan carried a heavy burden in his heart. On the wedding night, he sat by the bed with Sima Wangyue. Unable to bear it any longer, he asked what she would do if she discovered his betrayal. Sima Wangyue replied that she would accompany him in death. Hearing this, Chen Yan's emotions became even more complicated. Quietly, he used a sedative to make her unconscious, tearfully kissed her forehead, whispered an apology, and resolutely walked out of the room, ready to cooperate with the Jinghe Army for tonight's surprise attack.
