Gu Xun and Yue Qianling participated in a real-life competition together, and Gu Xun kept staring at Yue Qianling. Yue Qianling asked him why he was looking at her, and Gu Xun said it reminded him of the first time they met. Yue Qianling replied, "That’s when you called me ‘Old Six,’ right? " Jiang Junnan was playing games with two new beauties, and when Chen Xinyi saw this, she was very unhappy.

Yue Qianling approached her and said that while men could be discarded, one should never abandon a career. Then Yue Qianling took Chen Xinyi and Gu Xun to defeat Jiang Junnan in the game. Jiang Junnan still wanted to add the girl, Feng Ru, on WeChat, but Gu Xun shot him a few more times.

Gu Xun hosted a dinner with his employees, and Yue Qianling suggested he drink some wine while she drove, since she was the designated driver that day. Chen Xinyi told Yue Qianling that she was going to move out. Yue Qianling was a bit reluctant, but she knew that her apartment was too small.

Yue Qianling expressed her admiration for the atmosphere in the Ninth Business Department, and Gu Xun told her that they had her, that she was their indispensable concept artist. They all suggested that Yue Qianling stop running around and just join the Ninth Business Department. As they were talking, Jiang Yishi arrived and asked Yue Qianling if she had finished all her work and how she still had time for a social gathering.

Gu Xun replied that it was after working hours and asked if Jiang Yishi was getting too involved in other people’s affairs. Jiang Yishi responded that Gu Xun had really done a good job of managing his people, and it was no wonder his employees shined so much when they worked with him. Yue Qianling and Chen Xinyi were both surprised to see this side of Gu Xun, and they were both startled by him.

Jiang Junnan told them not to overreact, as this was how they usually were. Yue Qianling was curious why they acted this way, so Jiang Junnan explained that during their third year in the R&D department, they noticed Gu Xun’s talent in a tech competition, and they had won many honors together. However, apart from their abilities being on par, they didn’t get along well in other areas, and eventually, they had a falling-out.

Gu Xun and Jiang Yishi began playing darts again, and Jiang Junnan told Yue Qianling that the two of them had been co-champions in darts back at their school bar. Unexpectedly, this time, Jiang Yishi lost, and he started blaming Gu Xun’s employees. Gu Xun told him that if he was lacking in ability, he shouldn’t take it out on his employees. The two of them began arguing, and both Gu Xun and Jiang Junnan got drunk.

Chen Xinyi helped the drunk Jiang Junnan out, and he tried to call Feng Ru, but instead, he accidentally called Chen Xinyi. Jiang Junnan asked if she could be his friend, and Chen Xinyi replied that she could. Jiang Junnan happily told Chen Xinyi that Feng Ru had agreed to be his friend, unaware that he had dialed the wrong number.

Yue Qianling was preparing to take the drunk Gu Xun home when she took the opportunity to ask him when he was going to repay the five million he owed her. Gu Xun, in his drunken state, said he would pay her tomorrow. Yue Qianling thought to herself that he really had five million. She then asked Gu Xun if he could promote her, raise her salary, and give her his house and car.

Gu Xun suddenly opened his eyes wide and asked her why he should give her those things. Yue Qianling thought that maybe Gu Xun had sobered up, but instead, he said that those should be their joint assets. Huang Jie told Yue Qianling that today, Jiang Yishi was going to appoint the leader of the love agent team, a position that Yin Jun had been preparing for a long time.

Gu Xun told everyone that each department would select an outstanding employee, and there would be performance rewards. Wei Han, the leader of the art team, wanted to give the spot to Fan Xing, but Fan Xing said she didn’t deserve it and that the award should go to Yue Qianling. Wei Han told her that he had asked Gu Xun, and since Yue Qianling wasn’t in their department, it wasn’t possible due to the procedures.

Fan Xing felt that it wasn’t right to let her keep busy with something that wasn’t her responsibility. As Yue Qianling and Gu Xun arrived back home together, Yue Qianling saw a cockroach and immediately jumped into Gu Xun’s arms, just as Yue Qianling’s mother happened to see. Yue Qianling’s mother really liked Gu Xun and said that she would entrust Yue Qianling to him. That night, as Yue Qianling returned home, she noticed someone was following her. She quickly knocked on Gu Xun’s door and, scared, hid in his arms.
