Tang Xin was waiting downstairs for Yue Qianling. Yue Qianling asked him why he was there, and Tang Xin said he came to handle some business and happened to bring something for her. Tang Xin was about to take Yue Qianling to work when Gu Xun happened to come downstairs. He asked Yue Qianling why she left early when they had agreed to go to work together.

Tang Xin asked if Gu Xun was her boyfriend from gaming, and Gu Xun confirmed that it was him. Tang Xin began to mock Gu Xun, saying that he still had time to play games. He also told Gu Xun that he was Yue Qianling’s childhood friend and older brother, to which Gu Xun responded that he was Yue Qianling’s boyfriend. The two men shook hands on the surface, but in reality, they were sizing each other up.

Tang Xin told Yue Qianling that he came to Jiangcheng to attend a friend’s wedding and invited her to be his date for the weekend. Yue Qianling said she had to work overtime on the weekend and couldn’t accompany him. Tang Xin said that if she didn’t go, he wouldn’t go either, and he might as well go to the hospital to check on his myocarditis.

Upon hearing that he was going to the hospital, Yue Qianling quickly walked beside him, showing concern. Gu Xun, who was following behind, tried to join them, but Tang Xin shoved him away. Gu Xun asked why he was pushed, and Tang Xin said he wasn’t pushing him. Yue Qianling also defended Tang Xin, saying that he had myocarditis and couldn’t possibly push him.

When Yue Qianling arrived at the office, she received a text from Tang Xin saying that the clothes and shoes he bought for her were on their way via express delivery. Huang Jie noticed that Yue Qianling didn’t seem happy about receiving the clothes from this man. Huang Jie told her that if she didn’t like it, she should resolve it quickly. Yue Qianling thought about it for a while and agreed with Huang Jie’s suggestion.

She picked up the items Tang Xin sent and was about to head downstairs to have a meal with him. Gu Xun, seeing Huang Jie, asked where Yue Qianling was. Huang Jie told him that Yue Qianling went downstairs for Japanese food, as she had an appointment. Yue Qianling tried to return the items Tang Xin had bought for her, but Tang Xin told her that they couldn’t be returned.

Yue Qianling prepared to give him the money instead, but Tang Xin felt it wasn’t necessary. Just then, Gu Xun arrived and told Yue Qianling that he had made an appointment with someone there, but that person had canceled. Gu Xun asked if they minded if he joined them, and as Tang Xin was about to refuse, Gu Xun sat down.

Gu Xun looked at the dishes in front of Yue Qianling and said that she didn’t like such light dishes. He then called the waiter and ordered a plate of cilantro. Tang Xin admitted that it was his fault for not inquiring about Yue Qianling’s dietary preferences. Gu Xun told him that if there was anything he wanted to know, he could ask him, and then Gu Xun grabbed Yue Qianling’s hand.

Tang Xin remarked that he had heard Yue Qianling was single before, and Gu Xun began to act possessive, irritating Tang Xin. Gu Xun noticed the clothes Tang Xin had given to Yue Qianling and said that he would transfer money to Tang Xin. Tang Xin didn’t want it, but Gu Xun told him he would regret it if he didn’t accept. After Tang Xin finally accepted the transfer, Gu Xun deliberately spilled food on the new clothes.

Gu Xun and Yue Qianling then took the opportunity to leave, with Yue Qianling asking Gu Xun to cooperate with her in finishing the act until Tang Xin left. Yue Qianling’s apartment had a power outage, so she went to ask Gu Xun for help. However, Gu Xun was downstairs helping the property management fix the surveillance cameras.

Gu Xun discovered the person who had been stalking Yue Qianling and asked Yue Qianling to cooperate with him in capturing the stalker. The person turned out to be the security guard of their building, and they sent him to the police station. On their way back, Gu Xun received a call from someone saved under the name "Mother-in-law. " Yue Qianling was surprised that he had a mother-in-law.

When Gu Xun answered the call, Yue Qianling realized it was her own mother. She asked Gu Xun why he had saved her mother as "Mother-in-law," and Gu Xun responded that since her last name was Yue, she must be her mother-in-law. Jiang Junnan told Gu Xun that they were introducing him to his girlfriend today. Yue Qianling quickly called Chen Xinyi to inform her, but it turned out that Chen Xinyi already knew.

When Yue Qianling and the others were playing, Su Zheng lost the game, and they made him call his crush as part of a dare. Just as Su Zheng was about to make the call, Gu Xun grabbed his phone because they knew that Su Zheng’s crush was Yue Qianling.
