Yue Qianling showed Gu Xun the work schedule for Ling Yu and asked if there were any issues. Gu Xun told her there was no problem and that she could go ahead with it. As Yue Qianling was about to turn and leave, Gu Xun stopped her. He asked why she returned so late, at 3 a. m. the night before.

Yue Qianling asked how he knew, and Gu Xun said he saw that the lights in her house were on at that time. Yue Qianling explained that she had gone to comfort a friend who had just gone through a breakup. As Yue Qianling left Gu Xun's office, she noticed that Fan Xing's keyboard was broken. She told Fan Xing that she could apply to Chen Xinyi for a new one.

Fan Xing said that with her current rank, she couldn’t get a better one. Yue Qianling was about to argue that it wasn’t true when Chen Xinyi told her that the keyboard was actually bought by Gu Xun himself. While Yue Qianling was in a meeting in Project Department One, Fan Xing called her. Jiang Yishi noticed and told her to continue sharing her ideas.

Yue Qianling’s phone rang again, but Jiang Yishi showed no intention of letting her answer it. After the meeting, Yue Qianling rushed to the Ninth Business Division. Fan Xing told her that Ling Yu had left early due to changes in his work schedule. Yue Qianling realized that the issue was her fault and worked hard with Fan Xing to resolve the sudden situation. Yue Qianling apologized to Gu Xun, telling him that this mistake wouldn’t happen again.

Gu Xun asked if she could really guarantee that, and if so, she would have to make a choice. Gu Xun knocked on Yue Qianling’s door and brought her an electronic peephole, a water leakage alarm, and a self-defense stick. Yue Qianling received a text from Huang Jie informing her that the meeting for Department One had been rescheduled to the afternoon. She was conflicted because this conflicted with the Ninth Business Division meeting.

The employees in the Ninth Business Division were waiting for Jiang Junnan to start the meeting, but unexpectedly, Jiang Junnan was on a video call with Feng Ruru, watching a movie. Jiang Junnan told Feng Ruru that he had to go to the meeting, and Feng Ruru was about to get angry. She said that Jiang Junnan had promised to watch a movie with her, so Jiang Junnan reluctantly stayed and finished the movie with her.

Yue Qianling was still unsure whether to choose the Ninth Business Division or stay in Department One. She weighed the pros and cons on the balcony for a long time before deciding to flip a coin. The coin landed at her boss’s feet. Her boss told her that after she finished painting Lin Zhi, he had proposed transferring Yue Qianling to the Ninth Business Division.

However, Gu Xun had rejected it, as he didn’t want to interfere with Yue Qianling’s decision and wanted her to choose for herself. Yue Qianling asked her boss why he had founded the Ninth Business Division. Her boss told her that he had also flipped a coin at that time, and the result was not to do it. But in that moment, he knew that he had to do it.

Her boss explained that flipping a coin wasn’t about making a decision, but about following one’s heart. Yue Qianling told him that she would contribute to the narrow path, but Jiang Yishi told her that he wouldn’t let her leave. Gu Xun’s mother called to ask why he hadn’t replied to her WeChat messages. Gu Xun told her he was busy and hung up.

Jiang Junnan asked if he was still hiding the fact that he was working on a game from his mother. Gu Xun said he would tell her later. Wuminghua invited Yue Qianling to attend an offline event, and she helped Huang Jie get a signed item. Huang Jie told her that Jiang Yishi had been trying to arrange a commercial shoot with Wuminghua, but Wuminghua had rejected him multiple times. After hearing this, Yue Qianling went to find Jiang Yishi.

She told him that she could use her personal connections to help him get Wuminghua, but she wanted to make it a trade for her move to the Ninth Business Division. Yue Qianling explained that she had done well in all her tasks in Department One, and now she was ready to move on to the next phase. Jiang Yishi agreed after hearing this. After throwing out the trash, Yue Qianling returned home to find that her door lock was broken.

It was too late to find a locksmith, so she had no choice but to knock on Gu Xun’s door. As soon as she entered, she noticed women’s slippers, couple tea cups, and couple cushions in Gu Xun’s apartment. Yue Qianling asked if he lived alone, and Gu Xun explained that the slippers were prepared for her, and that the other items belonged to Jiang Junnan.
