Gu Xun leaned close to Yue Qianling’s ear and told her that if she wanted to discuss anything, she could always find him. Yue Qianling thought to herself that Gu Xun must be jealous of Su Zheng. While Yue Qianling was discussing work with Wei Han and the others, her mother called and asked her to go on a blind date. Yue Qianling directly refused, and Gu Xun’s mother also called him about a blind date.

Gu Xun said he was too busy and had no time. Yue Qianling said she didn’t know the person, so she wasn’t going. Yue’s mother insisted that she knew the person and could tell there were subtle glances between Yue Qianling and Gu Xun, so she was actually helping Yue Qianling. Yue Qianling thought to herself that this must be the bet Gu Xun had mentioned, and he was too shy to ask her out himself.

Yue Qianling happily agreed to her mother’s request and began to do her makeup and get ready. Huang Jie noticed that she seemed different today. Yue Qianling told her that she had lost a bet with him and had to go watch a comedy show. Huang Jie asked if the person was handsome, and Yue Qianling said he was average, then started to demand to see his picture.

Huang Jie said she had just bought a new "pure desire" style dress and suggested that Yue Qianling wear it. Yue Qianling told her that it wasn’t necessary to make such a big deal about it. Gu Xun and Jiang Junnan were discussing the game when Gu Xun became a little nervous. Jiang Junnan reassured him that the narrow path was the best, and the release was tomorrow, so he shouldn’t overthink it.

Yue Qianling stood at the entrance of the comedy show for a long time, comforting herself that he must have been delayed by work, as she knew that Gu Xun was like that. After waiting a while, she considered sending Gu Xun a message, but she was afraid it would make her seem too eager. Gu Xun asked Jiang Junnan if it was still possible to revise the promotional video.

He felt the promotional video for the narrow path could be great. The staff started urging people who hadn’t entered yet to come in quickly. Yue Qianling thought to herself that if he wasn’t coming, then forget it, but then she remembered that he had been the one who made the date. Yue Qianling called her mother and asked what Gu Xun had said, as he had set the appointment but still hadn’t arrived.

After Gu Xun finished his work and came out, he saw the words “comedy show” written on Yue Qianling’s desk and quickly called his mother to ask if her colleague’s daughter worked in artificial intelligence. It was then that Gu Xun realized that the girl was Yue Qianling. He quickly got in his car to head over, but encountered a traffic jam. He immediately called Yue Qianling, but her phone was off.

Gu Xun waited downstairs for Yue Qianling to come back. He wanted to explain himself, but Yue Qianling told him not to say anything, as she already knew. As she was about to reach her door, she discovered that the lock wouldn’t open. Gu Xun suggested she stay at his place for the night, but Yue Qianling insisted on calling a locksmith. After the locksmith fixed her door, she went inside.

Gu Xun stood at the door, wanting to explain, but as Yue Qianling was about to close the door to push him away, the locksmith suddenly pushed Gu Xun inside. When Yue Qianling tried to open the door again to kick Gu Xun out, she realized the lock was broken again. She called the locksmith, but they didn’t come back. Gu Xun apologized, but Yue Qianling didn’t listen.

Gu Xun tripped over a book on the floor and fell to his knees. When Yue Qianling saw this, she quickly urged him to get up and talk. Gu Xun told her he hadn’t known that the girl his mother had introduced was Yue Qianling, and he apologized to her. Yue Qianling told him that she had thought the comedy show was part of the bet.

She asked Gu Xun if he would have gone if he had known the girl was her. Gu Xun said he would have gone. Yue Qianling felt like crying. Gu Xun stepped forward and held her head, asking her what was wrong. Yue Qianling said she felt wronged, and he didn’t understand. Gu Xun announced that the promotional video’s release would be postponed. The board members disagreed and wanted to cancel the project.

Gu Xun asked them to give him some time, assuring them that he would provide a satisfactory answer. The board members asked what would happen if he couldn’t deliver, and Gu Xun told them that he would take full responsibility for the consequences. Jiang Junnan was busy with the new promotional video, but Feng Ruru kept calling him. He had to ask Chen Xinyi to go meet her on his behalf.
