Yue Qianling and Yin Xue went to participate in the arcade's championship tournament. She was very angry, slapping the arcade machine and complaining that the company’s internet was down, so she couldn’t upload anything. She vented all her workplace frustration through the game. After the round, she told her opponent to come out. To her surprise, the person on the other side was Gu Xun. Yin Xue also noticed that her opponent was Jiang Junnan.

Yue Qianling stopped pretending to be sweet and gentle. She exploded with temper and said she was going to leave with Yin Xue to watch a movie. Jiang Junnan watched Yue Qianling's back as she walked away. He thought her fiery attitude just now reminded him of someone. Back in the dorm, Yue Qianling logged in and asked the campus heartthrob if he wanted to play a round — she was extremely mad. The campus heartthrob asked what was wrong.

Yue Qianling said she had encountered something frustrating at work. In the game, Gu Xun once again heard that phrase — “not really hurtful, but extremely insulting” — and immediately thought of Yue Qianling. Gu Xun deliberately held back during the game so Yue Qianling could win. Yue Qianling asked if he liked her, but then deleted the message right after sending it. At work, Yue Qianling saw a colleague playing a game.

She couldn’t take it anymore and stepped in to play herself. Gu Xun saw Yue Qianling’s fierce gaming skills and recalled that he had asked her before if she played games. Yue Qianling had said she didn’t, only played some casual simulation games. Gu Xun walked over to check Yue Qianling’s game username. When he looked, it wasn’t “Glutinous Twist. ” But what he didn’t know was that the game ID wasn’t Yue Qianling’s own account.

When Yue Qianling was getting off work and about to leave, Gu Xun stopped her. He told her he had seen her artwork and thought her use of Eastern aesthetics was excellent. Yue Qianling told Yin Xue that Gu Xun praised her, and she was overjoyed. She thought her previous strategy had been too subtle, and now she wanted to change tactics and go on the offensive. Yue Qianling decided to bring Gu Xun a late-night snack at work.

But then she saw a girl inviting Gu Xun to go out during the New Year holiday. Gu Xun told the girl he’d be spending New Year with his girlfriend. Yue Qianling was heartbroken after hearing that and turned away to leave. On her way back, she saw couples everywhere and felt even sadder. Back at the dorm, she lay in bed and cried. Yin Xue asked what was wrong, wondering if someone had bullied her.

Yue Qianling told her she had just heard Gu Xun say he had a girlfriend. In the days that followed, Gu Xun and Yue Qianling went on living their own lives. Huang Jie told Yue Qianling that there would be a company team-building event and that this time they could bring a plus-one. Yue Qianling thought Gu Xun might bring his girlfriend, so she said she would be busy with graduation stuff and wouldn’t go.

Huang Jie told her that Jiang Yishi really valued team spirit, and if she didn’t go, it might affect her graduation. Yue Qianling agreed to join the team-building. She saw Jiang Junnan and asked if guests were allowed — why didn’t Gu Xun bring his girlfriend? Jiang Junnan said that was impossible — Gu Xun had been single since birth. Yue Qianling said she had heard Gu Xun say he’d be spending New Year with his girlfriend.

Jiang Junnan explained that was Gu Xun’s usual way of turning people down. Yue Qianling was thrilled to hear this and immediately started eating happily. Jiang Junnan asked who she’d be dressing up as for the costume party later. Yue Qianling asked who Gu Xun would be dressing up as. Jiang Junnan told her: the golden mask. The masquerade party began, and Yue Qianling searched for Gu Xun among the crowd.

She saw two people wearing masks who both looked like him. Huang Jie led a game of “Red Light, Green Light. ” In the end, only Yue Qianling and one guy — who she thought might be Gu Xun — were left on the stage. Huang Jie told them to reveal their masks. Yue Qianling was disappointed when it turned out not to be Gu Xun.

Huang Jie and the crowd started cheering for the two to touch nose tips for thirty seconds. Yue Qianling was very reluctant but didn’t know what to do. Gu Xun then stepped in and said he’d take Yue Qianling’s place. In the game, Yue Qianling used her Little Twist account to ask Gu Xun what to do. Gu Xun told her, “If you like someone, just confess — don’t leave regrets.

”At her graduation ceremony, Yue Qianling’s younger sister called to ask if she could use her game account. Gu Xun saw that Little Twist was online and rushed to look for her. Just then, Yue Qianling came to confess her feelings to him.
