Ji Yingying accused Zhao Xiuyuan, believing he should not have given the design ledgers to Cheng Fengze. Zhao Xiuyuan explained that he had someone he wanted to protect. Yang Erye revealed the antidote’s location, but Ji Yingying did not spare him. After punishing him according to family law, she sent him to the authorities. Zhao Ping discovered that evidence against Cheng Fengze had disappeared and informed Zhao Xiuyuan, hoping he would ask General Niu for more information.

Zhao Xiuyuan realized that General Niu was intentionally withholding information to prevent his involvement and reminded Zhao Ping to protect the remaining design ledgers and weavers. Niu Wuniang went on a hunger strike, insisting on meeting Zhao Xiuyuan and expressing her desire to return home for her mother’s birthday. She feigned madness to garner sympathy. Zhao Xiuyuan, feeling sorry for her, agreed to accompany her back to the Niu family.

However, Niu Wuniang was plotting revenge for Yuyuan and planned to make Zhao Xiuyuan pay. After drinking the antidote, Yang Shi regained consciousness. She convened a meeting with the family elders and revealed that Yang Erye had colluded with them for personal gain. On Ji Yingying’s advice, she decided not to pursue the matter. Ji Yingying suggested that instead of assigning blame, they should reform the family’s operations to address the root cause of the problem.

The family elders agreed, and Yang Shi appointed Ji Yingying as the Yang family’s business leader. She tasked Ji Yingying with assisting Yang Jingshan in implementing reforms and restoring the family’s reputation. Ji Yingying accepted the family’s business seal, and the elders pledged their trust in her. On her mother’s birthday, Niu Wuniang deliberately lured Zhao Xiuyuan into a room. She expressed her regrets and grievances, sitting by the window.

She revealed that she had chosen Zhao Xiuyuan because he was someone Ji Yingying valued. She lamented that, like Ji Yingying, she wanted to accomplish something but lacked support. Zhao Xiuyuan shook his head, telling her that she was different from Ji Yingying and praising Ji Yingying for her sincerity. Hearing this, Niu Wuniang laughed bitterly and suddenly drew a dagger, accusing Zhao Xiuyuan and Ji Yingying of tarnishing her reputation.

Zhao Xiuyuan tried to calm her, but Niu Wuniang suddenly stabbed herself in the chest and fell from the window, attempting to drag Zhao Xiuyuan down with her. Niu Wuniang’s death caused a stir, with many accusing Zhao Xiuyuan of killing her out of love. The authorities arrested him and tied him up. When General Niu learned of Niu Wuniang’s death, he criticized her for foolishly sacrificing herself in such a scheme.

Although he knew Zhao Xiuyuan was innocent, he refused to let him go, intending to kill all the Zhao family members to avenge Niu Wuniang. When Ji Yingying learned of this, she could not understand why Niu Wuniang was so stubborn. Yang Shi advised Ji Yingying not to overthink it and revealed that she was already working on clearing Yang Jinglan’s name. Grateful, Ji Yingying proposed going to Mianzhou herself to investigate the situation with the weavers.

However, Yang Shi, concerned for her safety, instructed Yang Jingshan to go instead while asking Ji Yingying to stay at the residence. Yang Jinglan sent a letter asking Ji Yingying to meet him on the mountain. Ji Yingying arranged for the Feihua Society to distract the soldiers monitoring her, creating a diversion. Yang Jinglan stared at the sword tassel in a daze while waiting for her to appear.

After seeing the message carved into the stone, Ji Yingying cut off a strand of her hair, silently vowing to wait for Yang Jinglan’s return. Watching from a distance, Yang Jinglan refrained from approaching, worried that Ji Yingying might get hurt. General Niu was furious when he learned of Yang Jinglan’s escape and ordered his capture. Zhuge Hong presented testimony to Mu Hui, urging him to bring General Niu to justice.

After a moment’s hesitation, Mu Hui decided to lead his troops to Yizhou for an investigation. Ji Yingying saw Zhao Xiuyuan disheveled and shackled. She hoped the Zhao family could set aside their grudges and work together against Cheng Fengze, inviting them to discuss the silk trade. Meanwhile, Ning Dai abducted all the weavers in Yizhou and took them to Nanzhao, while Cheng Fengze stayed in General Niu’s camp to recover from his injuries.

During the meeting, the Zhao family did not attend, so Ji Yingying shared her ideas first. She proposed that each silk household protect their weavers to overcome the crisis. However, the business leaders expressed concerns about increased labor costs. Ji Yingying emphasized that the weavers were the foundation of Shu brocade and urged them to think beyond short-term interests. Old Master Zhao arrived and expressed his support for Ji Yingying’s plan, encouraging everyone to follow her lead.

Meanwhile, General Xue brought Yang Jinglan back to the regional governor’s camp, while Zhuge Hong stayed at the Jinguan Mansion. Cheng Fengze fabricated a story, persuading General Niu to pretend to resist a Nanzhao invasion as a way to provide an explanation to Chang’an.
