Ji Yingying was assigned to the weaving camp, where Zhu Xiaoniang and others came to find her after learning about it. Chen Sanlang understood this was only a temporary measure and believed that Ji Yingying would find a way to take everyone out. Ji Yingying assured them she wouldn’t become a consort but expressed her desire to continue working on the Nanzhao brocade. Chen Sanlang couldn’t understand her motives and accused her of changing since coming to Nanzhao.

Jiang Laoliu was beaten by the head guard and his men. Hearing the commotion, Ji Yingying and others rushed over to intervene. She presented a document signed by the Nanzhao King and confronted the head guard publicly. The head guard, confident in the backing of Du Yan, arrogantly claimed that all the craftsmen were merely slaves. Ji Yingying remained composed and rebutted the head guard rationally.

The head guard attempted to sow discord between Ji Yingying and the craftsmen, making them believe she wanted to weave the Nanzhao brocade to become a consort. Chihu warned Ji Yingying, advising her not to provoke the head guard. From Zhu Xiaoniang, Ji Yingying learned that the head guard frequently humiliated and tormented the craftsmen, both openly and secretly. Zhu Xiaoniang had become accustomed to it.

Later, when Zhu Xiaoniang found her bedding soaked with water, she knew it was the head guard's doing. Sang Shisi quietly brought over some bedding. Ji Yingying, unwilling to see everyone suffer such humiliation, began planning a way to get rid of the head guard. Looking out at the moonlight, Zhu Xiaoniang thought about the approaching Mid-Autumn Festival. Ji Yingying noticed Zhu Xiaoniang’s feelings for Sang Shisi changing, realizing that the shared hardships had brought them closer.

Meanwhile, Yang Jinglan, imprisoned in a cell, became the target of Cheng Fengze’s schemes. Cheng Fengze sent Zhao Xiuyuan to probe him. Zhao Xiuyuan sought information about his family and learned that General Niu had ordered the extermination of the Zhao family, falsely accusing them of colluding with Nanzhao. Zhao Xiuyuan broke down in tears upon hearing this. Pretending to curry favor, Zhao Xiuyuan endured Cheng Fengze’s humiliation, including kneeling to clean his shoes.

Cheng Fengze ordered Zhao Xiuyuan to deliver poisoned food to Yang Jinglan, intending to make him addicted to the substance and break his spirit. Mulan grew curious about the phrase “fearless” and sought Ji Yingying for an explanation. Ji Yingying took Mulan to learn about Yizhou brocade, knowing Mulan’s love for silkworms. Mulan, however, declared that they were not the same kind of people.

Ji Yingying explained that she only wanted to return home and had no intention of staying in Nanzhao. Ji Yingying enlisted Chihu’s help, planning to sell embroidered flowers to earn money for the festival. The head guard caught wind of this and, believing the act, sought to profit from it. Chihu had already reported the plan to Cheng Fengze, who approved and decided to use the scheme to counter Du Yan’s men.

On the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Ji Yingying gathered everyone to celebrate. The head guard came to cause trouble again, accusing her of deceiving the king and attempting to have them all executed. Ji Yingying had prepared for this and summoned Cheng Fengze. Chihu presented evidence that the head guard had been colluding with outsiders, earning himself 50 strokes with a cane. The head guard tried desperately to explain, only to realize he had been outmaneuvered.

Ji Yingying insisted on venting her anger, leading Jiang Liu and others to beat the head guard thoroughly. Afterward, Ji Yingying asked Cheng Fengze to provide the craftsmen with the treatment they deserved. Cheng Fengze agreed but demanded they remain in Nanzhao. Cheng Fengze presented the embroidered flowers to the Nanzhao King, honestly explaining Ji Yingying’s plan. The Nanzhao King, understanding Ji Yingying’s intent to win the people’s loyalty, entrusted all matters related to the brocade to Cheng Fengze.

Worried about interference, Cheng Fengze proposed forming an alliance with Du Yan to ensure the success of the Nanzhao brocade, warning that failure would result in punishment for all. Cheng Fengze expressed a desire to stay for the festival, but Ji Yingying remarked that he didn’t belong there, as the festival should have been celebrated in Yizhou. After Cheng Fengze left, Ji Yingying encouraged the craftsmen, promising to fight for their dignity. Her words inspired their unwavering support.
