Yan Xing found herself in a dream, feeling dazed. Yun Que, with a smile, mentioned that she was soon to be wed to Shen Du, saying that this place was now her home, urging Yan Xing to leave quickly. The dream shifted, and a mysterious voice echoed around her, questioning what Yan Xing sought more in life—the truth or Shen Du—and how she would choose between them.

Yan Xing, troubled, cried out that she didn't want to choose either, then suddenly awoke, realizing it had all been just a dream. Although the dream was over, the turmoil in her heart remained, as the conflict between truth and emotion left her deep in thought. Upon waking, Yan Xing noticed that it was already the hour of You. A maid was waiting outside the door to guide her to the study.

Shen Du had already prepared the old case files from Jinxiu Workshop, carefully organizing them in anticipation of discussing them with Yan Xing. Hearing this, Yan Xing was delighted, knowing that Shen Du was determined to reinvestigate the case, giving her hope that justice might prevail. Lu Chuichui excitedly came to report, praising Shen Du's eloquence in the main hall, which finally earned the Empress Dowager's approval to reopen the old case.

She also mentioned that Yan Xing played a significant role in this success. Yan Xing laughed, saying that although Shen Du usually treated her with strictness, he couldn't hide his sense of justice. Lu Chuichui, full of admiration for Shen Du, praised his heroic demeanor, while Yan Xing joked about Shen Du's stern and distant manner. Just then, Shen Du passed by, overhearing their conversation, and gave a slight smile, seemingly approving of the lighthearted atmosphere.

Yun Que arrived carrying something, and Jing Lin hurriedly tried to stop her, worried that it might be inappropriate to disturb Shen Du at this moment. Yun Que, unconcerned, smiled and said she was not an outsider, so there was no need to avoid suspicion. Jing Lin then mentioned that Yun Que's family had close ties with Jinxiu Workshop in the past, yet they had miraculously escaped any harm, which left him puzzled.

Upon hearing this, Yun Que's expression darkened, and she questioned whether Jing Lin was suspecting her. Princess Yong'an visited Princess Lu Ning, discussing the reopening of the old case and expressing deep concern about the past. She bluntly stated that she always felt somehow connected to this case, revealing her unease. Princess Lu Ning, however, remained calm, saying that the deceased had already passed on, and whether the case was reopened or not made no difference.

Princess Yong'an also mentioned that Prince Xian had sought a divination from Princess Lu Ning during his visit and asked if she could do the same for her. Princess Lu Ning humbly declined, stating that her spiritual practice was still shallow and she was not capable of such things. Princess Yong'an left in disappointment, and Shen Du quietly appeared, proposing a plan to clear Princess Yong'an's name.

Pan Chi was ordered to bring Yun Que's parents, who mistakenly believed they were summoned for Yun Que and Shen Du's wedding, and they were overjoyed. Shen Du was shocked upon hearing this and questioned Pan Chi about the reason for this misunderstanding. Pan Chi innocently explained that he had merely followed orders to bring them, unaware of any confusion.

Shen Du and Yan Xing hurriedly clarified that although Yun Que resided in the mansion, there was no marriage arrangement, and they asked Yun Que's parents to recount the events related to Jinxiu Workshop in hopes of uncovering the truth. Yun Que's parents hesitated, but Yan Xing, with sharp words, implied that if they were not involved, there was no need to protect anyone, and they should leave immediately.

Finally, they confessed, revealing that they had been threatened into concealing the events at Jinxiu Workshop. The evidence Yun Que had obtained was also given to her by those who had threatened them, intending to use Yun Que to expose the truth. Yun Que overheard this and vowed that no matter what trials they faced in the future, the family would endure them together. At Princess Yong'an's banquet, Shen Du and Yan Xing were invited to attend.

The gathering took a sudden turn when Chen Huo E attacked the princess. Shen Du stepped forward to confront Chen Huo E in battle. Yan Xing joined the fray, touching Chen Huo E's chest and discovering the secret hidden within. This life-and-death struggle unveiled even more mysteries surrounding the old case.
