That evening, Su Yancheng returned home to pick up some things and happened to run into his mother, who was also there to get something. Since Su Yancheng was now in his third year of university, his mother suggested that he could intern at his father's company or at her hospital, or even continue with his graduate studies. However, Su Yancheng didn't like the idea of being told what to do.
He didn’t say much to his mother and just walked away. Bai Xiaoduo and Lin Xiaomiao were discussing their plans for the next day, planning to go to an escape room. Just then, He Rui came in. When she found out that Su Yancheng would be going as well, she expressed interest in joining.
Bai Xiaoduo happily agreed, though she couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed when she saw He Rui preparing her outfit for the escape room the next day. The next day, everyone took the bus to their destination. Xiao Yang wanted to create an opportunity for Su Yancheng and Bai Xiaoduo, so he made sure they sat together. Since Bai Xiaoduo was already sitting with Lin Xiaomiao, they swapped seats.
However, Su Yancheng remained cold and distant in his seat, not speaking to Bai Xiaoduo. Xiao Yang, seeing this, couldn’t help but criticize Su Yancheng in his mind for being such a "steel straight man. "When they arrived at the location, everyone felt a bit uneasy, looking at the desolate yard. He Rui, in particular, moved closer to Su Yancheng. Once inside, the dim lighting made everyone feel more nervous. Just then, an NPC appeared. It turned out this was a mystery-themed escape room where they had to solve clues and find the murderer. Before starting the game, everyone had to hand over their phones. After explaining the rules, the NPC took everyone's communication devices and left, signaling the start of the escape room challenge. Everyone drew lots to form teams.
Su Yancheng and He Rui were placed together, and Bai Xiaoduo, watching from the side, couldn’t hide her disappointment. The teams began to search for clues separately. After a while, they regrouped to share what they had found and started piecing the clues together to analyze them. Just as they were deep in discussion, they noticed a wooden cabinet in the middle of the hall, which looked out of place. When they opened it, they found a child crouching inside.
The child suddenly looked up at them, startling everyone. Panicking, everyone scattered and ran. This time, Su Yancheng and Bai Xiaoduo ended up running together. Bai Xiaoduo led Su Yancheng to hide inside the same wooden cabinet where the boy had been. In the dimly lit cabinet, they were both still a little scared. Suddenly, the boy outside began banging on the cabinet door, telling them to come out. Too frightened to move, neither of them dared to leave.
In frustration, the boy locked the cabinet door and told them not to go out. Then, to their surprise, the cabinet door began moving on its own. In the chaos, Su Yancheng and Bai Xiaoduo accidentally tumbled into each other, their faces just inches apart for the first time. Meanwhile, Xiao Yang took the opportunity to hug Lin Xiaomiao, expressing his feelings for her.
Afterward, Su Yancheng and Bai Xiaoduo were moved to a studio, while Yu Shubo, during the game, inadvertently showed some concern for Yu Chi.
