Su Yancheng’s summer internship course was progressing very slowly. His mentor was very anxious because Su Yancheng had always been excellent, and the mentor didn’t want Su Yancheng to fail this course and have it affect his grades. Su Yancheng explained to his mentor that his research had many limitations, but the mentor could tell that the real issue was Su Yancheng’s lack of social skills.
He was always working alone and never engaged with others, which was why he hadn’t completed the internship. Bai Xiaoduo was holding a book written by Su Yancheng and went to find Yu Shubo. By coincidence, she ran into Su Yancheng and asked him about Yu Shubo's whereabouts. However, Su Yancheng didn’t know anything about it, so Bai Xiaoduo had no choice but to wait for Yu Shubo.
Su Yancheng suddenly recalled several scenes from when he had met Bai Xiaoduo. Each time, Bai Xiaoduo had been lying, whether out of kindness or malice. She always deceived others, and this was the type of subject Su Yancheng needed for his assignment. So, Su Yancheng took the initiative to strike up a conversation with Bai Xiaoduo, even bringing out a lie detector.
Initially, Bai Xiaoduo was reluctant to help him after realizing it was a lie detector, but Su Yancheng convinced her to continue with the test. The test officially began. Su Yancheng asked many questions, but Bai Xiaoduo didn’t tell the truth, except when she said that Su Yancheng’s comic drawings could soothe emotions. That was the only truthful statement, and it actually touched Su Yancheng. After the test, Yu Shubo returned just in time.
Bai Xiaoduo saw him and started praising Blake's comic books, leaving Yu Shubo somewhat confused. That night, Su Yancheng secretly went back to the manga club to retrieve his manuscripts. Bai Xiaoduo also secretly snuck into the manga club and ran into Su Yancheng. After meeting, Su Yancheng continued to ask Bai Xiaoduo why she had helped the manga club during the day.
Bai Xiaoduo didn’t know that the person in front of her was Blake and casually mentioned that she was Blake’s assistant, and it was Blake who had asked her to help save the manga club. Bai Xiaoduo mistakenly assumed that Su Yancheng was also a fan of Blake. Since Bai Xiaoduo lied, Su Yancheng didn’t allow her to join the manga club. Just then, a security guard passed by, and Bai Xiaoduo grabbed Su Yancheng, running out with him.
Su Yancheng was playing basketball with his friend Xiao Yang on the court when Bai Xiaoduo happened to pass by. Xiao Yang, who liked Lin Xiaomiao, Bai Xiaoduo’s roommate, greeted her enthusiastically and began asking about Lin Xiaomiao. Lin Xiaomiao eventually joined the Guofeng Club, but because the club members were wearing their Hanfu incorrectly, Lin Xiaomiao didn’t hesitate to point it out.
This made the senior members of the Guofeng Club quite embarrassed, and they scolded Lin Xiaomiao for her mistake. Xiao Yang arrived at the Guofeng Club just as he saw Lin Xiaomiao being surrounded and attacked by the others. He stepped in to help and was injured by a senior member. Xiao Yang suggested that Lin Xiaomiao could join the manga club instead, where she could still pursue her dream.
The editor-in-chief approached Su Yancheng to ask about the progress of his comics. If he didn’t have any inspiration, the editor-in-chief suggested he could create a side story based on the previous seasons' comics. He also mentioned an important piece of information: the publishing house was sponsoring a comic event at the university and hoped Su Yancheng could participate as Blake, but Su Yancheng didn’t want to reveal his identity. Bai Xiaoduo officially joined the manga club.
Even though Su Yancheng was reluctant, the other members agreed, as Bai Xiaoduo was very popular at school and could help save the manga club. However, the manga club was severely understaffed, with only five members, and the school required a minimum of ten members for the club to exist.
