Because Bai Xiaoduo’s reputation for being involved with two people at once spread across campus, she became extremely cautious, trying not to be recognized as she walked through every corner. Suddenly, Yu Shubo appeared in front of her. Bai Xiaoduo thought he was there because of the news circulating online and started to explain herself. Yu Shubo, however, was confused and didn’t understand what Bai Xiaoduo was saying.
He then explained that Blake’s manuscript was copyrighted and could not be freely shared. Bai Xiaoduo hurriedly left, telling Yu Shubo to take care of himself. Yu Shubo found her panic and words strange, so he took out his phone to check. After returning to the dorm, Bai Xiaoduo felt upset. She thought that Yu Shubo wasn’t giving her the manuscript because their photo had been taken and spread all over campus.
Without the manuscript, Bai Xiaoduo wasn’t sure how to explain things to the manga club. When He Rui came back to the dorm and saw Bai Xiaoduo feeling down, she tried to comfort her. Meanwhile, the manga club had a meeting, but Bai Xiaoduo wasn’t there. Lin Xiaomiao had asked to excuse her from the meeting. Afterward, Su Yancheng, concerned, asked Lin Xiaomiao for news about Bai Xiaoduo and learned that she had become a hot topic on campus.
Su Yancheng was working alone on his project when Yu Shufen called, hoping that Su Yancheng would attend the manga exchange event as Blake. Su Yancheng refused, thinking that since the third season hadn’t been released yet, it wouldn’t be of much promotional value. He wanted to help Bai Xiaoduo and requested to take the manuscript to the exchange event on her behalf. However, since this was a commercial activity, it required approval, and Yu Shufen rejected his request.
Su Yancheng then suggested using some discarded manuscripts, but the editor-in-chief informed him that those weren’t within his authority to share. Lin Xiaomiao and He Rui, concerned about Bai Xiaoduo, sent her messages. Bai Xiaoduo was about to head back to the dorm when she saw Su Yancheng had swapped in some old discarded manuscripts. She thought that he had obtained Blake’s manuscript, which excited her.
She decided to go to the manga club to find Su Yancheng and sent a message to Lin Xiaomiao. He Rui, hearing that Bai Xiaoduo was going to find Su Yancheng, felt disappointed. When Bai Xiaoduo and Su Yancheng met, they had a pleasant conversation, and time passed quickly. When they were about to return to the dorm, they realized the door was locked, and their phones had run out of battery.
They had no choice but to return to the manga club. Bai Xiaoduo lay on the sofa to sleep, while Su Yancheng continued to work on his comic for the exchange event. Bai Xiaoduo, feeling embarrassed to sleep while he worked, sat beside him, watching. Without realizing it, both of them fell asleep, and the next morning, they were woken up by the cleaning lady.
The next morning, Su Yancheng sent Bai Xiaoduo to her class, but as luck would have it, someone snapped a photo of the two of them and posted it online. The photo was misinterpreted, with people assuming they had spent the night together, and the internet was filled with criticism. He Rui also saw the information online and became very upset with Bai Xiaoduo. She felt betrayed and was deeply saddened, thinking Bai Xiaoduo had deceived her. The whole school was gossiping, and when Bai Xiaoduo overheard students discussing her, it caused her physical discomfort.
