Dawn Amidst Hidden Clouds Episode 15 Recap
> Dawn Amidst Hidden Clouds Recap
Xu Shaoqing walked in to see Lan Che asleep at her desk, exhausted from reviewing case files. When she woke up, he smiled and told her not to work so hard; her health was important, and the case would never be solved completely. Lan Che asked if he had good news since he seemed so happy. Xu Shaoqing replied that his sister, Bingbing, had agreed to go home with him. Lan Che expressed her joy for their reunion.
Just then, a subordinate approached to report that the owner of the stolen items from the last robbery in South City had come to claim them. Xu Shaoqing hurriedly took out a key to unlock the storage, but it wouldn't work. Upon inspecting the key, he realized he had mistakenly brought the one he had just made for Bingbing instead of his own.
He sighed, telling his subordinate to write up the case files first, and they would sort out the stolen goods later. As Lan Che read through the fan letters addressed to Jun Zichen, she suddenly noticed something unusual. She quickly circled the discrepancies with a brush and rushed to inform Lou Mingye that she suspected Jun Zichen was involved in something problematic. She doubted that Jiudushan was written by him.
Lan Che shared her findings with Lou Mingye and Li Mo, who commented that the handwriting was impressive and didn’t expect Jun Zichen to have such good penmanship. Lan Che urged him to compare it carefully with the letters written to Jie Jiulian, and Li Mo noted how similar the two styles were. Lou Mingye examined the letters and concluded that they were identical.
Lan Che explained that she hadn’t been sure at first, but upon seeing the character for "far," which isn’t obscure, she wondered why both samples had similar handwriting errors. She felt it was too coincidental. Li Mo suggested that while Jun Zichen outwardly appeared to dislike Jie Jiulian, he might actually have feelings for him and was his biggest fan. After he finished speaking, both Lan Che and Lou Mingye fell silent.
Li Mo asked if he had said something wrong. Lan Che insisted that the manuscript wasn't written by Jun Zichen; the true author of Jiudushan was Shiqiaoquan. They decided they needed to confront Jie Jiulian for clarity. As Lan Che, Li Mo, and Lou Mingye arrived at the gates of Dali Temple, they saw Xu Shaoqing using a lift to remove a sign for cleaning. Lou Mingye told them to go ahead while he verified something.
Lan Che and Li Mo stopped Jie Jiulian before he could leave, asking him about Jiudushan. Jie Jiulian claimed he couldn't even recognize many characters, let alone write such things. They prompted him to consider if there was anyone who admired him enough to observe his daily activities. Jie Jiulian remarked that anyone who liked him would say so directly instead of writing letters.
He then seemed to recall that Xu Bingbing might do just that, sharing this thought with Li Mo and Lan Che. Meanwhile, Lou Mingye sought out Xu Bingbing, asking if she was the true author of Jiudushan. Xu Bingbing didn’t answer, making an excuse about her legs preventing her from serving tea. Instead, she offered him water from her personal flask.
Lou Mingye pressed her on why she would kill for Jie Jiulian, to which Xu Bingbing, although surprised, maintained her composure. He pointed out that she had staged Boss Ma's hanging scene using a wheelchair, and Xu Bingbing questioned why he hadn't arrested her if he was so sure she was the killer. Lou Mingye replied it was because she was Xu Shaoqing's sister. Xu Bingbing expressed surprise that the renowned Lou Mingye could show such humanity.
Just then, Lou Mingye began to feel faint, realizing the water she gave him was drugged. Back at Dali Temple, Lan Che and Li Mo noticed an ink stain on the floor that matched a woman’s footprint. Xu Shaoqing mentioned that the only person who had come to see him for the key was Xu Bingbing. Panicking, Lan Che ran to find Lou Mingye, fearing for his safety.
In the ensuing chaos, Xu Bingbing attempted to kill him, and Lan Che was injured while trying to save him. Lou Mingye blamed himself for being careless and causing her injury. Lan Che reassured him not to worry, stating that she had already found the real killer and that their relationship would end here.
