Jiang Xiaoyuan arrived at the agreed-upon location with Huo Baiyu. It was pitch-dark and terrifying, with only a note instructing her to go upstairs. Jiang Xiaoyuan gathered courage and ran to the rooftop, only to be startled by Huo Baiyu's sudden appearance. Huo Baiyu seemed disoriented, telling Jiang Xiaoyuan that this wasn't time travel. Previously, Huo Baiyu had taken Jiang Xiaoyuan to a game studio for testing, and due to a system malfunction, they had been in a virtual world ever since. Huo Baiyu claimed that only they were real here; everything else was false. Jiang Xiaoyuan found it unbelievable, prompting Huo Baiyu to prove it. He claimed to have been in constant contact with the system through his phone, completing all the tasks he assigned and receiving corresponding rewards. According to Huo Baiyu, he was the ruler of this world, with rules established by him, and only Jiang Xiaoyuan could understand him.

Despite finding it unbelievable, Jiang Xiaoyuan had heard the sound of logging into the Lighthouse System, so she had no choice but to believe Huo Baiyu. Huo Baiyu continued to act irrationally, suggesting that jumping off the rooftop would allow them to return to the real world. Terrified, Jiang Xiaoyuan tried to escape, accidentally dropping her phone, which she had been using to stay connected with Qi Lian. Qi Lian questioned the relationship between Huo Baiyu and the Lighthouse System, leading to a struggle between them. In the midst of the conflict, Jiang Xiaoyuan intervened against Qi Lian, unsure who was telling the truth. However, if she had to choose, she picked Huo Baiyu, as Qi Lian and he were not from the same world.

After Huo Baiyu jumped, Jiang Xiaoyuan chose to leap from the rooftop without regard for her own safety, returning to the real world she had longed for. Upon waking up, she saw Secretary Xu, who informed her that he and Huo Baiyu had been trapped in the game capsule for a week before waking up. Jiang Xiaoyuan, feeling uneasy about everything she just experienced, found Huo Baiyu's ward, and he pursued her like a madman. Waking up once again, Jiang Xiaoyuan realized that everything was just a dream, and she was still in Losan City. Qi Lian told her that Huo Baiyu had been arrested by the police; everything he said was false. Jiang Xiaoyuan, however, believed Huo Baiyu's words, seeing Qi Lian as a virus. She thought that if it weren't for the police, the portal might have succeeded. Jiang Xiaoyuan then experienced a stress reaction, having seizures.

After her emotions finally settled, Qi Lian hoped she would give him a month, but the current Jiang Xiaoyuan didn't want to see Qi Lian. Shortly after, Chen Fangzhou visited Jiang Xiaoyuan, taking her out of the hospital back to the store. Everyone was delighted to see Jiang Xiaoyuan back, but her mood was extremely low.
