Liang Yin applied to Director Lu for the case files of the Yang County murder case in 2008. She went to the archives and looked through the files, recalling the events from that year.

Back then, Liang Yin was wearing a dress and had her hair tied in a ponytail as she walked past an old factory. Suddenly, she heard the sound of a motorcycle approaching from behind. There were hardly any people on the road, so Liang Yin became even more scared. She picked up her phone and pretended to make a call until the motorcycle passed by. As soon as she felt safe, she put her phone down. However, Hu Dayong, who was riding the motorcycle, did not go far before he and his motorcycle fell to the ground. Liang Yin, who was kind-hearted, quickly went up to ask about his condition and tried to call for help, but the phone was not answered. Hu Dayong then covered Liang Yin's mouth and nose from behind, dragged her into the old factory, and pinned her to the ground. Liang Yin could only see his face in the reflection. As she recalled this, tears flowed uncontrollably down her face. She put the case files back where they belonged and her gaze became even more resolute.

Upon learning of Lu Fengping's fake death, Luo Fei suspected that Lu Fengping was likely hiding in Hu Dayong's pharmaceutical den. After obtaining a search warrant and weapons, Luo Fei, along with Wang Jing, followed Hu Panpan's lead to Hu Dayong's pharmaceutical den. Unfortunately, they did not find any trace of Lu Fengping inside, only equipment for making drugs. Back at the office, Xue Bing discovered that Lu Fengping had been captured on surveillance cameras on the southern outskirts of Longzhou. The footage showed Lu Fengping looking inside a car, and upon zooming in on the back seat, they discovered that Hu Dayong was in the car.

Everyone was guessing where the two of them were going when Liang Yin suddenly spoke up, firmly saying "Yang County." Luo Fei woke up abruptly and arranged for everyone to pack up and leave, ordering Liang Yin to report to Director Lu about their work before leaving and making sure that Luo Fei and the others waited for him. Luo Fei then called his friend Yu Ge and asked him for a favor before setting off. When Liang Yin returned to the office, it was empty, and she was about to chase after them when Yu Ge arrived just in time to stop her. It turned out that this was what Luo Fei had instructed Yu Ge to do, and Liang Yin realized what he meant and didn't make it difficult for Yu Ge.

On the way to Yang County, Luo Fei recalled what had happened in the past. It turned out that on that day, Liang Yin dressed up to go to a classmate's birthday party and specifically asked Luo Fei to cover for her so she could avoid her parents. Luo Fei instructed Liang Yin to be careful and to call him if she needed anything before going with her. Later, Luo Fei played games with headphones on and accidentally broke a cup. Luo Fei rushed into the factory and saw a fleeing figure and Deng Yan lying on the ground with steel bars piercing through her. Deng Yan asked Luo Fei to chase after the person who did this. Luo Fei chased after him but the person suddenly stopped and Luo Fei saw blood dripping from his face. He stopped and watched as the person left. The police arrived shortly after, and Deng Yan passed away. Liang Yin watched from her mother's arms, and later she was hospitalized. Luo Fei stood outside the hospital room and didn't dare to go in. Luo Fei contacted the local police, and this time, he finally got closer to the truth.

Lu Fengping brought Hu Dayong to the factory where everything happened years ago. Hu Dayong couldn't recognize it anymore. When Lu Fengping said that this was Yang County, Hu Dayong remembered the past and even laughed, saying "It's gone, it's all gone." Lu Fengping became furious and whispered the past in Hu Dayong's ear, hypnotizing and guiding him to reveal what he did after he caught up with his mother and Liang Yin that year. In Hu Dayong's imagination, Lu Fengping saw his mother and Hu Dayong fighting and being pushed down, with steel bars piercing through them. Lu Fengping couldn't stop his tears from flowing. Suddenly, Hu Dayong woke up and ran away. Lu Fengping chased after him. With the help of the local police, Luo Fei also arrived at the scene and followed Lu Fengping's footsteps to catch up with him. By this time, Lu Fengping had caught up with Hu Dayong. Seeing the arrival of the police, Hu Dayong breathed a sigh of relief. Luo Fei stopped Lu Fengping's impulsive behavior. Only they knew the emotions they were feeling at this moment - the murderer they had been looking for for ten years was right in front of them! In the end, Luo Fei persuaded Lu Fengping to calm down and handed Hu Dayong over to the law, saying he didn't want to lose another friend. Hearing this, Lu Fengping finally calmed down.
