Now that Prince Liang has been executed and the turmoil in all directions has subsided, peace has been restored throughout the land. Fan Xuan assumed the throne in the Eastern Capital and declared himself Emperor, establishing the era name "Da Xia." The majority of the warlords who had been in control of their territories have been eliminated along with the rebellious Prince Liang. Gu Jiusi received a transfer order to serve as a Minister of the Ministry of Revenue in the capital city. After winning the hearts of the people during the defense of Youzhou, Gu Jiusi bid farewell to the people of Youzhou who lined the streets to see him off. With hopes for a better future, Gu Jiusi and his family arrived in the Eastern Capital.
