Tens of thousands of years ago, in the immortal realm, the boundary patrol immortal responsible for inspecting the four realms enlightened a piece of green stone by the side of the Milky Way, turning it into a fairy named Qing Shi Xian. Due to a mistake, Qing Shi Xian escaped from the celestial prison along with a powerful demon. Eventually, both Qing Shi Xian and the boundary patrol immortal were punished and reincarnated into the mortal world.

Before descending to the mortal world, Qing Shi Xian gifted a piece of green fairy stone to the boundary patrol immortal and made a pact that after ten thousand years, they would return to the immortal realm together, using the green stone as a token. As the ten thousand years approached, the exiled immortal took the form of a wealthy young man named Luo Feng and, recalling the pact with Qing Shi Xian, set out to find him, who had taken the form of Gu Qing. However, during an incident of robbery and murder at an inn outside the city, Luo Feng, the exiled immortal, met an unexpected accident and fell off a cliff.

Ji Ruochen, a waiter at the inn, mistakenly wore the green fairy stone pendant of the exiled immortal by a twist of fate and was mistakenly identified as the exiled immortal by various factions in the world.
