Upon learning that the sect leader intended to arrange a marriage between Ji Ruochen and Gu Qing, Zhang Yinyin challenged Gu Qing to a duel once again. Unexpectedly, after a devastating defeat, the heartbroken Zhang Yinyin went to the Zhenxin Hall and sought to become a disciple of the celestial fox, Su Yu. She decided to learn demonic arts to defeat Gu Qing's celestial arts. Although Su Yu warned Zhang Yinyin that once she practiced demonic arts, she would eventually transform into a demon, and there would be no place for her on the Xixuan Mountains, Zhang Yinyin paid no heed and ultimately became Su Yu's disciple, starting to learn Su Yu's secret celestial fox techniques.

Following the sect's orders to protect and bless the people by eradicating demons in Haofang, Ji Ruochen searched extensively for Zhang Yinyin but couldn't find her. Eventually, Ji Ruochen decided to leave the mountain alone. On his way to Haofang, Ji Ruochen learned that the mortal enemies of the Xixuan Sect had set up traps to ambush and kill him along the road to Haofang. To avoid his enemies, Ji Ruochen disguised himself and traveled discreetly.

Soon, while resting, Ji Ruochen unexpectedly encountered a group of demon hunters chasing a severely wounded little demon. Unable to bear the suffering of the little demon, Ji Ruochen intervened and saved it. As a result, Ji Ruochen's whereabouts were exposed, and his enemies began to chase him relentlessly. The little demon introduced itself as Qingyi, claiming to come from the Tianxing Mountain, and begged Ji Ruochen to take her along to Haofang so she could experience the prosperity of the mortal world. Helpless, Ji Ruochen reluctantly agreed.

Meanwhile, upon learning that Ji Ruochen had headed to Haofang, Gu Qing disregarded his master's obstruction and also left the Xixuan Mountains to catch up. As Ji Ruochen and Qingyi evaded their pursuers from the Xixuan Sect, Zhang Yinyin unexpectedly appeared and helped Ji Ruochen shake off the pursuers.
