The female protagonist is named Ai Qing (played by Mu Le'en). She is currently several months pregnant and about to give birth. When she went to buy groceries, she happened to meet the aunties from the neighborhood. They mentioned that her mother-in-law is hoping for a baby boy. Ai Qing's mother-in-law was complaining via video call at home, expressing her dissatisfaction that Ai Qing gave birth to a daughter as her first child. In their eyes, having a daughter is considered a loss.
At that moment, Ai Qing returned home with a bunch of groceries. She originally intended to ask her mother-in-law for help, considering that she was pregnant and had heavy bags to carry. Moreover, it was Ai Qing's birthday that day. After coaxing her daughter to sleep, her husband returned home very late, only giving Ai Qing a handmade bracelet. Later, Wang Chuanzong (played by Li Xinghao) also gave Ai Qing an accidental insurance policy. Ai Qing felt puzzled because she thought they already had this insurance last year, but Wang Chuanzong believed that insurance was important.
Wang Chuanzong was still thinking about the five million yuan insurance payout for the accidental death of Ai Qing's parents. However, Ai Qing insisted that she would not take out that money because she had already donated it. At that moment, Wang Chuanzong received a debt collection call, and he could only beg the other party for a few more days. Taking advantage of Ai Qing's sleep, Wang Chuanzong began searching the house for the deposit of 5.5 million yuan. However, he made too much noise and woke up Ai Qing.
Ai Qing learned from Wang Chuanzong that he owed someone 1.5 million yuan. She was very angry upon hearing this, and Wang Chuanzong knelt down, begging Ai Qing to save him. In the car, Ai Qing told Wang Chuanzong that she planned to sell the house. However, while waiting at a traffic light, unexpectedly, the debt collector appeared. Wang Chuanzong quickly drove forward, and Ai Qing became very frightened. As a result of Wang Chuanzong's speeding, they collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. Wang Chuanzong regained consciousness first. In a weak voice, Ai Qing pleaded with him to save their child. However, Wang Chuanzong only thought about the payout from the accidental death insurance policy, so he pretended to be unconscious as well.
Both Wang Chuanzong and Ai Qing were taken to the hospital. Wang Chuanzong initially thought that Ai Qing had died but was surprised to learn that she was only in a vegetative state.
