Double Assassin Episode 13 Recap
> Double Assassin Recap
Lan Xiaoyu, in Chi Jingyu's body, went to the bamboo forest to find the mysterious person. The person was certain that Lan Xiaoyu came here to confirm Xuan Niao's death and accurately mentioned her name. This made Lan Xiaoyu suspect that the soul exchange with Chi Jingyu was also part of the other's conspiracy.
However, the mysterious person clarified that he was just following the will of fate and that Xuan Niao informed Prime Minister Cao about the Qing Ling Ling incident, helping him escape the danger. The reason their Hongmen did this was that Prime Minister Cao was a good official. To prove his words, the mysterious person gave Lan Xiaoyu some evidence detailing Prime Minister Cao's virtues as an upright official.
In Chi Jingyu's place, using Lan Xiaoyu's identity, he answered the Empress Dowager's question about female virtues. He believed that only benevolence, moral character, and kindness should be considered the three virtues. This angered the Empress Dowager greatly, and she immediately ordered that Lan Xiaoyu be punished by having her mouth slapped and expelled from the palace, forever losing the chance to become the Crown Prince's consort.
The Crown Prince tried to intervene but couldn't persuade the Empress Dowager, who had already been bribed by Su Xiaoxiao's family, so he sought an audience with the Emperor for help.
The Emperor advised the Crown Prince to prioritize the overall situation since the position of the Crown Prince's consort was of great importance. Mishandling the situation could cause turmoil in the court. However, the Crown Prince insisted on marrying Lan Xiaoyu, wanting to be with the person he loved, leaving the Emperor in a dilemma.
Lan Xiaoyu understood that Chi Jingyu deliberately provoked the Empress Dowager to help her withdraw from the competition. She told him directly that he should take care of himself, and she would do her best to take care of Chi Jingyu, so that they would not owe each other in the future.
